Holy shit...The Lions actually fired Matt Millen! Talk about something that was 5 years overdue! They must have finally gotten those naked pictures of William Clay Ford away from Millen

I guess the kid basically said if he was in charge he would've fired him a long time ago. He must have finally talk to the old man.

Either that or the old man finally picked up a newspaper and saw Detroit's putrid record, over the past 7 years! There has NEVER been an executive in any sport who has held their job longer than Millen, with his DREADFUL record!

As long as idiot fans keep going and the team keeps selling out every game, the Lions will never, ever get better. Why spend a ton of money building a team when you're still making money? They've one one playoff game...ever. Why change now?

Same business plan, different team. I count the Bruins as one of the worst franchises in all of sports, and I have for many years (which doesn't endear me to the rabid Bruins fans in my hometown)! I think the big difference between the Bruins and Lions is that the Bruins have had far more success in their history and have acutally won some championships. Granted, they haven't won since the world was flat, but still have some banners, and their version of Barry Sanders...The GREAT Bobby Orr (nobody EVER better than that dude, including Gretsky and that pussy Lemieux)

Before the merger, Detroit won 4 Championships: '32, '52, '53, and '57.....

Bruins have won 5 Stanley Cups.... '29, '39, '41, '70, '72....so there is ONE title difference.

Gretzky was a great talent whose legend was artificially raised due to the fact that NO ONE would hit him.....he was allowed free reign....

And Did someone post a picture of Jerome Iginla? Now that is some funny shite....the guy won ONE scoring title....

There is no question that Gretsky was a great, great hockey player. I always liked Gretsky, as a player, but he really didn't do anything that different (he just did it better). Bobby Orr revolutionized the way the sport of hockey was played. He remains the one and only defenseman to win an NHL scoring title. Anyone who is a fan of hockey understands just how insane it is for a defenseman to win a scoring title! Orr did it twice! He also won three consecutive MVP's, and won the Norris Trophy 8 straight seasons! I only really got to see the tail end of the guy's career, but he was one badass hockey player! I think with the passage of years, people just tend to forget about the great players of days gone by! I've never seen a better hockey player than Orr. As great as Lemieux and Gretsky were (offensively), Orr was a much more well rounded player and simply did much more than Lemieux or Gretsky were capable of!

I'd rather have Cam Neely, OR Ray Bourque on my team than Orr......

Dude...you can't be serious??? Listen, unlike Orr, I watched Neely's and Bourque's entire careers! They were both great players and both first ballot hall of famers. Neither guy was Orr! Raymond Bourque would be the first guy to tell you that he was no Bobby Orr. I'd love to hear your rationale for why you'd take Neely or Bourque over Orr. The only thing I can hypothesize if you're making that statement is that you simply never saw Bobby Orr play!
