Why the hell would you post a topic with a title like that and then not talk about it and say "nothing special"? You're gonna piss a LOT of people off doing that.

No, I meant the drive by Perry title followed by a more or less blank post would piss people off. If you aren't gonna post information, don't bother to post the thread, that's all I'm saying.

I really rarely ever get *truly* pissed off around here. I'm not pissed. Is it that unreasonable to read a thread title that suggests information is contained inside and then actually expect info to be there, though? :?:

I'll save you people the trouble... I looked on Miller's site ... you have to be a paid subscriber to hear the download and the recap said the Perry appearance was a call-in. That's all I know because I'll be damned if I'll subscribe to something for $6 just to hear a 5 minute phone call.  (<-- see not pissed. just my usual smarmy self)

SW is too good a song even with the lame vid.

The long version "Oh Sherrie" would definitely be a Perry Roll.

This however, is a great Perry vid.

I got that covered, I started another thread about nothing (ie. Lindsey Lohan). That should keep this one safe for a few minutes.

I heard him come on, rushed to post.....and literally, nothing was said. Miller joked with him that during "We are the World" that Michael Jackson was still black. Thats about it.

Sorry.

Quite alright. The boys amused themselves with panties fantasies (pantasies?) until the interview itself popped up a few posts ago. Now we all get to hear what you heard.

This my friends is the slow chug a lug of Perry's pr train starting up... I have been very observant of his voice when he speaks, laughs etc in interviews over the last 10 year because you could hear that something was wrong in his voice.. I have to say after hearing this interview that the horrible rattle that accompanied his every laugh is gone somehow and his voice is way less raspy. I have speculated this in my mind for a long time and I believe it to be true. He had a vocal condition (nodes probably) as he kind of alluded in an interview where he said something like, " you have this thing in your throat that is as neurotic as you are so you dont know what kind of voice you have until you go out there and sing". SOmething like that... I think he had it removed or received therapy...

There are a lot of new techniques for repairing the cords these days thanks to laser treatments and just plain better medical technology.. I think Steve got his cords fixed up... That scratchy Bruno the mobster rasp is gone and it has been there for at least 10 years or more...

Listen to the behind the music special or anything from the time.. He sounds almost as if he is whispering and has no fullness even when speaking.. Now he sounds about like he did in ROR era interviews... I would love to be right about this...

Would be nice he if knocked one out of the park one last time wouldnt it ?

IF this is true (and I think you could possibly be quite right,) then I'd find it hard to believe that Perry would go through this procedure just for the heck of it. (Remember the hip surgery?) I, too, noticed that he sounded a lot younger although it's hard to tell since he was on the phone and not in the studio.

Heck, if he would be back in Raised on Radio shape, I'd be happy! I just want to hear some new stuff from him AND I want to know the low down of what Andrew has concerning this "High profile" duet.

There was a piece of a documentary on Steven Tyler where a doc scoped his throat and talked about repairing damage to the point of basically returning his voice to that of years ago.

Liquid_Drummer wrote:Would be nice he if knocked one out of the park one last time wouldnt it ?

Most definitely! Then he'd no longer be 'nothing special'.
I think the stage is set for this - Journey is back on the map with this album/tour. Perry gets back on the map next year or so. Journey brings back Perry & Rolie for a reunion thing. Who knows...probably not. It's a nice thought though.
