Someone on the Noticeboard is saying the radio station that reported the story says that Arnel has walked away from Journey...another radio station says there is trouble in Journey camp...
No links, sorry.

Interesting. Here is a link to the arena where the show was to be held. This does indeed confirm the show has been cancelled, but doesn't offer any reasons why. Ticketmaster also confirms (link below) that this show has indeed been cancelled.

I hope Arnel walking away is a just another nasty rumor. I hope it's just a case of homesickness and the band is giving him an extended break between legs of this tour.

At this point I hope they scrap the idea for a winter leg of the Revelation Tour in the U.S. I'm thinking that's the case since they canceled the NH show, which when rescheduled was clearly worked into a series of winter shows.

I call BS on Arnel leaving. I'm sure it's just a schedule issue, or they just wanted more time off.

Maybe there was an issue with the ticket price if Heart or Cheap Trick weren't going to be there.

I agree. Scrap the winter tour and just do a spring 2009 tour through Asia. Being a little closer to home might help ease the homesickness some.

I'm sure Arnel isn't out of the band, because that would just be very fucked up. Clearly, the show being cancelled isn't a rumor, at this point. The only issue is why was it cancelled? Perhaps Neal is coming to the conclusion that he's running out of voices to ruin!

Could be...but the ticket is for Journey. As long as Journey is going to be there, you can't get a refund even if Cheap Trick and/or Heart are not. I imagine there were a lot of pissed off Heart fans when the date was rescheduled and Heart said they were not going to be there.
Still, I'm hoping it's just a scheduling issue and another instance of a radio guy blowing hot air.

I cannot see them cancelling the winter tour since they have some momentum right now. I hope to hell Arnel did not get too homesick or blow his voice out--

The two shows at the Greek Theatre on Sunday and Tuesday have not been canceled yet.

Shouldn't Journey's "official" website at least have the cancellation announcement, before the arena they're supposed to be performing in has it?

I wouldn't assume that. The official site is never very fast as posting poor news.

102.9 WMGK (Philly's classic rock station) mentioned Arnel's hardships on the road just the other day after DSB was played.
It was really nothing different than what was said in the Rolling Stone article. Basically the DJ said for him to buck up if he wants to play with the big boys.
But to have word like that now spreading on the airwaves can't be good PR for the band.

All we have to do is change the title of this thread to "Arnel Is Out of Journey", and see if that gets their PR machine fired up

We'd find out pretty quickly just how far reaching Drew's site is!

If there was away to fuck up a wet dream, this band could probably do it.

WMGK is the best classic rock station and now that I am moving back to the Philly area from Charleston, I will be able to get good music again.!

Fuck that DJ. In fact, I'll draft a short letter and tell him that
myself. This has
nothing to do with "bucking up." Arnel's body is having problems with the climate. That's not something you can simply "buck up" and fight. Furthermore, he was not afforded the shots we get as infants and is susceptible to
many more viruses and illnesses than we are and it's showing. So before a DJ goes and spouts off that Arnel needs to "buck up" he should afford himself the luxury of knowing what the fuck he's talking about.

Arnel isn't leaving. But instead of just the New Hampshire concert cancelled, I hope they cancel whatever shows they were going to do in November sometime that Arnel said. Since they're adding on the the Asian tour in February and I know he told his Chile fans on his site they were coming back next year, he needs a break.
