William Shatner has some so-bad-they-are-funny-which-makes-them-good cover s!!!!
My personal favorite is his cover of the Beatles Lucy In The Sky Wwith Diamonds
I think Spock did some hilarious cover too back in the day. There's a CD out their called " golden throats sing the classics" (not sure of the exact title) that chronicles these, and more equally hilarious
covers from the 60's.

Personally, I think that Carey does a great version of Open Arms. I enjoy it as much as the original.
