Sam Milby prepares for his first solo concert

Popular young actor Sam Milby will prove his versatility as he readies for his first major solo cocert dubbed as "The Rockoustic Heartthrob" on October 25th at the Aliw Theater.

..."Rockoustic" according to Milby is the combination of acoustic and rock songs that he is going to perform for the concert....

The actor admitted that he is nervous for his upcoming concert. But he said that he will surely give his best to satisy his audience....

Journey's Pineda

To make Milby's concert more memorable, popular rock band Journey's lead vocalist Arnel Pineda will be part of the show.

Milby said that he is really excited to see Pineda and it will be a great pleasure if he could perform a duet with Journey's main man.

"Wala pa silang sinabi kung may duet pero sobra kung maka-duet
(my translation: No word yet about a duet but it would be a great honor)... he's from a famous international band," he said.

Milby said he hasn't had the chance to meet Pineda. He said that if they will perform together, he will make sure he gets to choose which parts he will sing.

"He will take the high notes, I will take the low notes," Milby joked...

Fil-Am Sam Milby (from Troy, Ohio) is an actor, commercial model, and recording artist:He charmed his way into mainstream Philippine showbusiness through Pinoy Big Brother:

AP is still relatively unknown to the bulk of the consumers/audience in the PI, so he stands to benefit a great deal from the concert publicity.

The lower and middle classes (about three quarters of the country's population) primarily depend on the tri-media of TV, radio and print for information and entertainment.

For the few months that Arnel was their lead singer then, the Zoo's clout was otherwise somewhat limited to the live band circuit where the audience was predominantly from the upper class (the minority.)

If Arnel was a rap artist or Balladeer, they would know who he is. Probably won't be allowed to sing any Journey songs while away from the group but the irony is he can sing Perry's solo hits for the fans down there.

A good number of them are either OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) or US-based Fil-Ams.

Meant it to be read as the Spanish "diez y nueve."

Besides, there was a near-drought of concert updates from the Philippine media front throughout Journey's European and summer tours. I remember but two short research-wanting TV news plugs, one identifying Foolish Heart as a Journey tune, and another referring to AATY as a rerecorded classic.

Rest assured though that it is not a matter of Journey gaining a Philippine foothold, but rather AP's presence boosting the band's long-established Filipino following.
