FINALLY - SCHON November Guitar Player Mag!!!

Postby kbo » Sat Oct 11, 2008 11:04 am

Finally... Neal gets respectable coverage in the November issue of Guitar Player. Lots of advertisements with Neal as well..

It's about F..... time..

If I only had 5 grand to drop on his signature Les Paul...

Sweet! I'll buy a copy, and next time I think they should have George Lynch on the cover!

I saw it in the airport in Seattle. Not just a cover shot with a 1/2 page article. Looks like several pages of text, some good pictures as well. Should have bought it, but wanted a car magazine for the flight instead.

Gotta go get me one of these mags. I have the Guitar World feature with Neal in it, it wasn't really the best interview/lesson in the world. The riffs they had Neal showing us weren't really in his Journey style at all.

I wondered about that Marshall add he's in. Where he's supposedly quoted as saying that the amp "hit's you from down under." If that is actually a quote from Neal, I would wonder if he's thinking of Andrew when he made it. Got to wonder......

This issue should have been titled the Neal Schon issue... it's packed full of Neal, he's everywhere.

Awesome pics too.

Guess the advertisers know what sells cause there are tons of adds featuring Neal...cool stuff. :)

Apparently 2 of the pics in the article are Marty Moffitt's and that includes the full-page one, which was miscredited. 3 of the pics used in the ads are also Marty's. Pretty nice. eh?

yup that's cool!! they are great pics!! I just found it at Wal Mart. finally....gr. :x and there are ads all over the place outside of the article.

coincidentally, Gary Schutt has an ad running in there for his new cd, loss4words, and the ad mentions Neal as a guest artist. I thought that was cool too. page 176.

it did mention the white strat as the LIGHTS guitar. but it's not the original one.

this is just cool dangit. 8)

I, love listening to Neal play; it's like he goes somewhere else when he's playing and he takes me with him to that other place.

That clip of him playing the Mother, Father arrangement is awesome. I never realized so much of that song was guitar driven. Between Cain's keys, Perry's voice and Schon's guitar I don't know who is the song's MVP. I'm going with a Perry-Schon tie. :)

Congrats to Marty, he is da-bomb-diggity..that full page pic was awesome! I'm sure he's thrilled that Neal also sees his talent. 8) Sucks that he didn't get the credit for it 'tho. How can such a major mag as this one screw that up? I read on BT where Marty wrote them a letter infoming them of the mistake but at that time he hadn't heard back from them.

Which of the ads were Marty's?

ha, that's funny Rip.

Dang, he's got a LOT of stuff. Didn't realize he was that into midi these days since his Schon guitar was no more. Wow. Very cool clip!
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

What? No, doesn't cause problems with me anyway. Neal is short..so what. Beth, mom of Miles, is tall and blonde. So he has physical traits of both his mom and dad...it's all good.

BUT, his guitar talents most def come from his dad, and that major cool. :)

He's a really nice young guy, too; had to have been weird playing at someone's house for a bunch of his dad's (considerably older) fans ... but he seemed cool with it ... gracious and at ease.
