The re-record sucks dog ass. Not an easy song to nail.

I may be shortsighted but you would need to be tone deaf not to hear that the usually reliable Arnel was totally off pitch/key/whatever many times throughout that particular performance.

Now Arnel is a tremendous singer but that clip does him absolutely no justice. It was just a bad performance and anyone with a working set of ears should be able to detect the fact that it was sub par for Arnel who sounded like he was channeling tapegate era Augeri. My guess is he was ill.

I'm not qualified to comment because I have not listened to or compared boots or youtubes from this tour other than the random video that gets posted here and only if its something I might be interested in (i.e. Deen's Still They Ride clip....)... but from what I have heard of Arnel on Stone In Love, you're choice of the word 'stab' was spot on.

This is nothing against Arnel. Its just not a song that fits him. That's ok, though. It happens. And before anyone says jack shit to me about how I am just picking on Arnel because he isn't Perry, or something stupid.... that is not the case. And before any of the P haters show up and say "ok, so you think Perry can get out there and do it any better?" (can I predict this place or what?) my answer is 1) he ain't doing so, so it doesn't matter and 2) I wouldn't know first hand, but no, probably not.

I'll leave #3 out because I'll get attacked and because its totally loon sounding. :lol:

To be fair, Arnel has done this song great justice many, many times. The video is really a very bad indicator of his ability to sing that particular number.
