Favorite little known song...

Just thought about this, and figured I'd see what some of your favorite songs are that the average person out there never heard. For me there's so many of them, but I'll start with one of my all-time favorite songs...

"I will Remember You"-Toto. This song also had a pretty high-dollar, kick-ass video. I hope you like it!

Hunting High And Low by A-HA.

They may be a one hit wonder in the US but the album is really under rated IMHO.

I haven't really heard any of their songs other than their one radio hit. I can't say I really like this song, but some times I have to hear a song a few times before it really grows on me. I love "Take On Me" though!

This is one I've been fixated on lately, and for the life of me, I don't understand why this band AND this song wasn't huge.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCEFNRYf44s

Stevie Ray's rhythm section, Mellancamp's old guitarist, and an albino black dude who can flat sing his ASS off! How did that formula go wrong???

Anyone remember this?

Very cool song! When it first started, I was thinking WTF?  He can sing, and he's got a lot of soul in his vocals. He really reminds me of someone, but I can't put my finger on it. I really like it!

Here's one for you G.I. I love this song "The Pan Within by the Waterboys. I stumbled on this audio from youtube which is a live version but they started with "Because the night" which I think was great.

That was cool. Did they write "Because the Night"? I remember Stevie Nicks sang that song also (at least I think that was her). Cool song though!

Jim, the BOSS wrote BECAUSE THE NIGHT, and both Patti Smith and the 10,000 Maniacs (Nat. Merchant) had hits with it, but I don't think Stevie did.

Glad you like the Storyville. Awesome band, and they're still kicking the clubs in Austin.

VERY nice! I've always been a huge winger fan. I know that most people think their 2nd album was too "Pop", but as a keyboardist it's one of my favorite albums. I love "Rainbow In The Rose", and "Miles away". Awesome songs!

Good pick on the obscure Toto Jim... how about

Toto - Otherside?

In a HUGE rush right now so I can't youtube, but it's probably on there.

Great song, very similar feel to I Will Remember

I'm always a little surprised at the blank looks I usually get when I mention this little rock favourite of mine http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=xsKpazeA5L8 - Gary Moore and Phil Lynott, "Out In The Fields"

And this song by Wendy Matthews is almost the total opposite, but not nearly well known enough, in my opinion; "The Day You Went Away" http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Zfqusp7s5o0

More of an anthem type song, I get pumped up when I hear this. I want to go break some windows or burn someone in effigy.

Just checked out Wendy's song....Ehhh....I like her voice, and she's freakin HOT, but I don't care for the song. I'm sure she'd sould much better on something else. I've never heard of her before...has she had any hits anywhere?

Out In The Fields is great and yes it has a hilarious video. The solo Gary laid down on that song is so nasty he says he rarely gets it right live. Great 80s rocker. Coulda fit into a Rocky or something.

Damn...these are some good tunes! I LOVE Signal (in a hetro kinda way of course! ), and several other songs on here are great! I also liked the Enchant tune...don't see how anybody could play that damn thing on Guitar Hero though!
