Great singer and a great talent, but man was this guy a jagoff!!! Major cocaine problem and he loved storming off of the stage mid-show. Still one of my favorite groups and I thoroughly enjoyed them the 4 or 5 times I saw them.

Why the hell was he still living in Detroit? I would've moved out there with my first royalty check.

Detroit is definitely a shithole (sorry my Detroit friends). That said, home is home, regardless of what type of place it is.

Have you been to Detroit John to say that? I was there for the Superbowl a couple years ago and the people were great.

I've been to Detroit more than once, and wouldn't have offered an opinion on a place I had never seen, genius! I think Detroit is a GREAT, GREAT sports city, with superb fans. It still doesn't change the fact that it's one of the most run down cities I've ever been to. That said, as I previously said, home is home, wherever that happens to be. I personally grew up in a very rough city, about 8 miles north of Boston, that is a complete shithole. I escaped as soon as I was intelligent enough to understand that raising a family in a hellhole probably wouldn't be a wise idea. Even though I escaped, it will forever be my hometown.

"genius!" Why get a little short John it was a question? Yes they do have awesome fans. Great sport stadiums.

I fuckin love these guys and listen to them all the time. "Just Can't Get You Outta My Mind" is one of my favorite Levi performances. R.I.P., friend...

Levi and The Four Tops were among the select records of my parent's collection I would plunder as I was learning to sing and perform for my family in the living room. Something amazingly singular and unique about his sound. He had a big influence on one Mr P and Jonathan C as well. Speaking of which, listen to "Where Did I Lose Your Love," and get a feel for the "I'll Be There" influences JC & I discussed at his studio.
