...but I thought I read in a thread that there would be an announcement regarding Steve Perry towards the end of October. I believe the post was made mid-September and stated that the announcement would be in about 6 weeks.

Anyone hear anything else on this?

I think I vaguely remember something, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I believe it was Saint John who said we would be hearing something within 6 weeks (at that time).

Believing any Perry announcement is only weeks away (at any given stage) is not something that is good for one's health.

That's gonna happen right about the time Perry creates his own account here and starts posting release dates himself, which will be 5 minutes after jesus shows up and does the same.

I think its up to you to take all the rumors with a HUGE CHUNK of salt, never mind the piddly ass grains, and ignore it until/unless something actually comes out. There are always going be people claiming they know INSIDE stuff. Some of them very well may and most of them are full of shit.

Well, you're wrong. SP has a legion of fans that appreciate him for his sensitivity and honesty -- me included. No one wants to hear him sing more than me, but if it's not in the cards for new music, then an interview here and there (or a Q&A) is great for the fans.

I don't see what the problem would be if he wants to answer some questions. If he does not want to, that is his choice. I would love to know how he is doing. But I won't go knock on his door to find out.

I really have no interest in hearing another interview with him unless he has something to talk about. All of the topics have been covered. He has said what he is going to say on every matter regarding himself and Journey. Just 'checkin' in with him doesn't apply, because the same question about new material or what he is working on always comes up, and it's always the same answer. I'm not being critical of him, just saying that if I hear an interview with him, I'd like to actually learn something new or have him discuss a project that we can all relate to in some way. Like, I dunno....new music?

Other than that, like someone said..he's a private man that wants to be left alone. So be it.
