OT: NFL Week 8

Two great matchups this weekend with Giants versus Pittsburgh and Tennessee versus Indianapolis. I like the Giants to beat Pittsburgh, and the Colts to upset the Titans. I'd love to see Dallas tank again this week, and maybe get that dope Phillips fired! My other upset pick is Atlanta over Philly!

I think Indy is a VERY mediocre team, who should probably only have 1 win on the season. That said, I just think that if Indy doesn't win this game, their season is over, which is why I think Manning steps up! Although the Titans are a good team, they really haven't played anyone. They're going to lose some games, and I see this being their first. As for the Phillies over the Rays...I surely hope so. Even though Philadelphia sports fans are a bit psychotic, they are FAR more deserving of a championship, than ANY city in Florida will ever be!

Don't let St. Louis beat the Patriots. I'll laugh at you for 10 fuckin years.

Why??? You do realize that the Patriots don't have Tom Brady, and that Rodney Harrison's career ended last week, right? Dude...they're a .500 team, so them losing to anyone isn't going to shock me! Also, let's not forget that the pathetic Miami Dolphins have already blown out the Patriots, this season!

Week 8 already? Football season is too fast. It's that time where it throws you for a loop.

Tampa is going to WHOMP on Dallas. Brad Johnson has Tuna for an arm and is far past his years of being a competitive backup. Plus, Tampa's D is starting to look like the one that won them the Superbowl in '02. Always a tough bunch of guys. BJ should be Beyond emergency IMHO. Tampa by 18.

Indy and Tenn is a toss-up in my eyes. Indy has the offense to really spread that aggressive defense out, but as we already know, Indy's once potent offense of a year and yesteryear's seem to be out of sync and the potion is running out of the bottle on their play makers. As long as they have #18, anything can happen for this team. Even though Indy's D is a bit stale, I look for them to step up today only because Kerry Collins is due to throw one. Indy by 4.

Pats and St.Louis will be a blow-out. Pats will play underneath all game long to Welker and Bellicheat has a knack for adjusting to running backs to his system. Bulger and Jackson seem to be bringing that offense together the last couple weeks under Haslett, and the Pats defense lost Harrison. Still, I think High School Quarterback will play well enough not to lose, or win the game, unlike Brad Johnson did for the Cryboys last week. Pats by 17.

Giants and Stillers. This is too close to call. Two different but similar defenses go at it. Practically a mirror image in stats, but go about it in different ways. The Giants produce sacks off their lineman (19), and the Stillers produce sacks of their linebacker core(25). Eli has trouble against 3-4 Defense's, and HAS already been having trouble with the NORTH. Cinci took them to Overtime, and they lost to CLE on Monday night. Steelers are without Parker again, but Moore has been feeling in better than advertised. In order for the Steelers to put up the W, Ben is needed to have a big game since Holmes is not activated. It'll be tough to stop Jacobs at the line, while you have Plax over the top. Should be a tight, close, hard-hitting game. Stillers by 6.

WHOA...the young lad puts together a well thought out and logical post! You're starting to sound like a football fan, dude! Aside from your assessment of the Patriots game, I don't disagree with much else you posted! Impressive!

The Chargers have definitely proven to be a complete fraud of a team. I thought with their offense that they would be a MUCH beter team, but I was VERY wrong about that team. With the way they're playing, they won't finish with a .500 record.

Great game. I love games like this. Two things are apparent, after this game. Both of these teams are very good teams, and if they played 10 times, each would win 5!

The defense suck. Cottrell coaches like his is about to take 2 dicks in the ass. Anyways, luckily for us Charger Fans, they play in the pathetic AFC West where 9-7 will be all that is needed to win the division. So...there is always a chance for them to get better.

I wouldn't count on your division getting you into the playoffs. The reality is that the Chargers are an embarrassing 3-5, and seemingly get worse every week! Also, don't forget that they still have to play Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Atlanta (this shows you how far the Chargers have fallen, that I'm actually putting Atlanta ahead of them), Tampa Bay, and Denver. They could easily lose every one of those games. None of those games is a guaranteed win, given how San Diego is playing!

Well, credit the Giants defense, they got it done when it counted. I thought the Steelers had a chance at the end, but they shut us down. Anyone have a spare long snapper?

I think he was trying to snap a field goal. Holy shit that thing was high. They really lost it at that point.

Yeah, a lot of injury's today! Still, even in a loss I love a great game. Both defenses put it all out there.

0 & 8 and you think your team has problems. The NFL needs to make unqualified owners face reality. They need to hire a REAL FOOTBALL person to be a REAL GM for this city. We took on tax increases to build a new stadium and yet the same malarky goes on yrs later. Step in NFL and save the integrity of the NFL before the stadium is empty. I have never heard this city so angry.

9-7 easy. If Cotrell gets the boot, I'll say 10-6 :) You read it here first.

Norv Turner will have a complexion like Sophia Loren in the 70's before the Chargers make the playoffs with him as the coach. They're going nowhere fast with him. Right now, that team sucks and the best they can hope for this year is 8-8.
