The first of my Firefest slideshows is now online. I've done Tall Stories first as I know there is a fair amount of interest in Mr Augeri...

AWESOME shots, Marty!
Funny story.... Rhi caught me gasping over the pics and she said something like ha ha, she caught me oogling Steve Augeri... I said "No, I'm not, I'm oogling the
photography!"

Dang Marty, great shots. Just got a Nikon D80 for my bday. SO psyched!!
Looks like Augueri's not using in ear monitors for that show. Surprising. Any audio from that show leaked yet?

Ouch!! Caught in the act!
From the keyboards in the background I'm guessing that was probably during White Sister's set. The earplugs by the way were because by this time my ears were ringing. Being this close to the stage for (at this point) thirteen bands was more than my ears could cope with. They didn't really help though coz they kept falling out.

yup---some of it was loud loud loud. I actually wore earplugs for several of those shows. I never had to before and I always stand in the front.
that's not White Sister. David Readman i think. the link to your photos for that band doesn't work for me. help. mine snaps of him are horrid. that dumb smoke machine! gr. and bad bad lighting for him

Sorry. The link for David Readman should have been
http://www.martymoffatt.com/ff5-davidreadman.
It wasn't very good lighting. In fact I think the lighting for David Readman and for Tall Stories was probably the worst (ie the darkest) of the whole weekend. I had to do a lot of work to brighten them and make them usable. Compare that to the JSS or Tyketto sets for instance. Note to bands and lighting engineers - poor lighting leads to poor photos.

i took pictures of each band, roughly 1500 photos, and the majority were unusable due to the smoke machine and the poor lighting. loud & clear's set was one of the darkest. hope the videos turn out better.

opps that band was Rox Diamond.
My pics of DR look about like yours. but at least you got him the few times that he held the mike with his left hand!! i think I ended up with 6 pics--of just him. the smoke and light hid the other band members completely.
