Does anyone else's Firefox fuck shit up half the time? It seems like 50% of the time I load a myspace page or forum in Firefox it somehow shows jumbled up garbage or half the page in text form. Is is just my FF?

Like right now - The little Emoticons next to the message text only have maybe 5 actual pictures and the rest are text descriptions. I hate this shit.

I've never gotten the fuss over Firefox. It's slower than IE or in my case Safari and it is a resource hog. The only thing it had on IE or Safari a while back was tabbed browsing. I don't know how stable it is vs IE on PC but on Mac I'll take Safari any day.

I do have to use Internet Explorer on a couple of webpages to get them to work correctly, however.

Actually I love Safari (I'm primarily Mac), but there's little things it just doesn't do. I also reaally like Google's Chrome but I don't think it's available for Mac.

ff3 has adblockerplus, you can also block out sections of pages that have ads that adblockerplus happens to let through,

At work I use FF for unofficial browsing. I need explorer for DMV,DOI and other gov sites just to be on the safe side on the job.

Firefox works fine here. My only complaint is that it uses up more memory than most other browsers.

IE7 sucks all the way around...Far too slow to be useful at all.

Opera is great also...About as fast as Firefox but doesn't render some pages as well.

I use Firefox pretty much exclusively, and IE only when I have to -- never have probs like you are mentioning, so it must be something with the installation. Right now Microsoft seems to be on a "let's take perfectly usable products and destroy them" kick. IE 7 was a good step in this directly... confusing interface that doesn't resemble anything close to what people are used to in a browser, takes away the menu by default and tosses the controls all over the place so you have to move your mouse more to get to them. Then there is Vista, Office 2007... MS is going to sink their own ship like Symantec has done because they've placed greed over customer experience far too long.

Hope you get the Firefox wrinkles worked out.

Those 3 products are the absolute worst.

Unforch, I still use IE mostly, but I'm just used to it after 10 years of using it, but I do have Firefox as a backup for when IE decides to take a martini break and fouls up all my shit.

My problem with Firefox is that it seems like I'm always having to update... I click "no" or "later" or "go fuck off" or whatever the button says, and it tells me "Firefox will update next time its restarted", so I don't get the choice to "do it later". Then I restart it, the update runs and takes for-friggin'-ever. Other than that I like it.

Firefox works great for me! Maybe it's the mac version that has issues? Firefox is 100 times faster than IE7! Plus, you can configure Firefox to work even faster by enabling pipelinging.

For those of you who insist on using IE, there is an alternate web browser that uses the IE engine. It's called Maxthon and it's a lot faster than IE as well. Not sure if they make a mac version, but it works quite well!

Here's a nice little addon for Firefox for those sites that only seem to work in IE:

It lets you switch between IE and Firefox engines on the fly.

In other words: you will be able to view the IE version of a page in Firefox.

Also, if you use things like Facebook, Gmail, YouTube, etc check out Flock. Flock is an enhanced version of Firefox with some cool additions.

People will get used to them. XP was a big change from all previous Windows versions and now everyone loves it. Office takes some time but it's not like this is the first time software has ever been revamped...

Opera is good, once you get used to it, minimum resource requirements and loads quickly.

They're not in it to make money. They're a non-profit organization. They operate from donations.

FF is an open source browser. It came from the Netscape Mozilla community so there are a lot of coders that want to make sure MicroSucks doesn't stay the only game in town. Slowly but surely they're making headway. I think FF is near 20% user now with Opera and Safari under 5% each.

You may not notice a difference because you ARE on the T1 line. When I was on dial-up. FF was the way to go. Back then IE didn't have multiple tabs so FF was a godsend.

You can adjust what button are in your top bar. I use the history clock and favs tab. I have a LastFm add on that plays music automatically when FF launches. Tunes into the Foreigner station of course.

If it crashes or updates, it gives you the option to start fresh or remembers your last pages.

Right now I have Springsteen's "Magic" playing in one tab, reading about GnR in another and writing this post in the third.

FF's the best thing to happen to the net in years.

I have never seen any version of IE run faster on any computer than Firefox or Opera.
