There's a new show on the travel channel. These two or three guys doing it. They got some REALLY creepy stuff including footage of an apparition and also footage of a brick just picking itself up and hurling itself across the room. Way cool.

I recorded most of this...
say what you want, but the part where Grant's coat was getting yanked was REALLY cool. On the DVD, you could totally see it happening.

Ok, Evander Holeyfoot. You sound like Keith. It's a good show. They try to debunk hauntings, it's only after piles of evidence do they ever claim something to be "haunted". :P

Biteth me. My argument on the paranormal (which grotesquely intrigues me to no end) is that I don't know enough about everything to say it's crap, and I don't know enough about everything to say it's real. So yeah... ghosts, spirits, hauntings, all that stuff is like brain crack to me.

ah, it's just a fun show. Doesn't mean it's real, doesn't make it real or fake, just fun.

However, what is the deal with them bringing on these idiot wrestlers? Total wankers.

Highly unnecessary. I didn't watch it as I was out until 5am Halloween night, but I've watched other ones and those guys only seem to contribute an air of doucheyness to the program.

I used to be into all that, Ghosts, UFO's, vampires, etc. Maybe I was too involved in it, I actually became obsessed looking at the purported evidence and set myself up for a big downer once I looked at it objectively.
When or if you feel ready to see the light, read "The Demon Haunted World" by Carl Sagan. It helps explain our need to believe this stuff and debunks it in a way that doesn't totally make you feel stupid for believing in it.

I'm fairly familiar with all points of view on topics like this... I always study all sides and still don't ever really make up my mind.
It's entertaining, and I'm open to suggestion that anything is possible. Doesn't mean I don't understand that it's not probable. :)

Me too Rhiannon and they DO say some places are haunted on there. They don't de-bunk every place they go. I've had things happen here and there so the naysayers may biteth me also. :P

I too am one who says that I don't know enough about to say yes its possible or no its not. I'm more likely to lean toward no its not in most cases because I always look for the logical explanations on things.

As Rhi said, what they try to do is DISprove the alleged supernatural occurances, not prove them. When they can't find anything to pinpoint a cause, they aren't necessarily saying "its haunted", they're saying "well, we don't know because we can't find any other causes for such & such happening."

I can watch a show like MonsterQuest, where if they can't disprove it, they leave it open to come back and do another show on. They actually use real scientists. not some one with a mail order degree from the back of a superman comic book.
