Well the Rock and Roll Train rolled into Chicago these past few days and I was lucky enough to see the show last night.
First off great stage set up with the Huge Train uptop.
There is a great animated cartoon in the beginning of the show which kicks off the show nicely.
The band is full of energy as always
Angus well what can you say the guy is the greatest rock and roll - blues guitar player I have ever seen.
The setlist was good but not very creative.
Just the hits and great new tracks.
Biggest draw back for me was the show was just way to short
It started at 8.40 and was over at 10.15
The songs were being played at hyper speed so it seemed to go by very fast.

The best songs of the night Shoot To Thrill and Let There Be Rock.
These suckers kicked ass.

I would add Shot Down In Flames , Problem Child and Girls Got Rhythm to this setlist which would add about 20 min to the show and make it perfect all the way around.

As far as Brian Johnson's voice it was fine no strain at all

Just three weeks to go!! I haven't been to a concert in about six weeks now so I'm suffering from withdrawls.

Wow, that is pretty short, especially since 10 minutes of it was inevitably "The Jack" with Angus' tired routine. I love AC/DC but they could shake it up a bit more, especially when it comes to the Bon-era albums.


For the prices classic rock acts charge these days, anything short of a 2 hour set is kind of pathetic, IMO, given how extensive the AC/DC catalog is. I saw Genesis play for about 2:45 last year and Springsteen even longer. I know Brian's voice is struggling and whatnot, but it's still kind of crapping out, IMO. I'm sure the 90 minutes they did were great, I mean, it's AC/DC, but I still would expect more.

I'm surprised your going Froy, since Brian isn't the orginal lead singer!

We got snubbed. Had tickets but the ticket broker renegged. After we got to the venue I saw why. Plenty of people willing to buy and at outrageous prices but no tickets to sell. Prick must have got a ton of dough more and we paid well over face.

Did you ever consider the fact of Brian's age, the type of vocals required for the songs, and world tour schedule? (regarding your complaint of a short show)

Some have poor quality, some good.

Bon Scott was 10X the singer Johnson is. That said, Johnson is spectacular in his own right.

Big deal he's 61
His voice was perfect.
Neil Diamond is 66
Paul McCartney is upper 60's
Both put on 2.5 hour shows
This was a bad effort by these guys to do only 90 min
They need to do 2 encores not just one 4 songs total.
Add Problem Child and Shot Down in Flames in Encore 1 and it will kick ass.

Bon was the best, but Brian's freshman effort is the king when it comes to sales. Back In Black = 42 million and counting

Neither one of them are great singers. They fit what AC/DC does. Bon always sounded like he was half sloshed and Johnson sounds like he is gargling razor blades and broken glass.

Yeah, but if you're doing a short show for that reason, maybe you shouldn't be out in the first place. (or maybe Johnson should've hung it up before the tour) I'm sure AC/DC could've done almost the same business with a different singer. Angus is the real show anyway, and people go to hear those songs, half of which weren't sung by Brian originally anyway.

I know it's tough, but when I see guys his age like McCartney, Elton John, Genesis, Springsteen, etc, doing 2 1/2 to 3 hour shows, I can't help but be a little critical when a band with that many songs does a 90 minute show for $100 tickets.
