I was just watching VH1 Classic and they confirmed that Perry will be releasing a new solo album at the end of 08 or in early 09. He was number 7 (I think it was 7) on their Top Male Voices Of All-Time.

If true (which it sounds like you're not joking), it seems like a rather odd revelation to just casually announce on VH1 Classic, when nobody else has heard anything about this. I don't know. I always said if he was going to do it now would be the best time with all the hype of Journey the last year with The Sopranos and then Journey and Revelation. Steve Perry's name was mentioned so much. Plus I had said before Rob Dickinson said in an interview in Ultimate Guitar in August that he had written some songs with Steve Perry. I wouldn't be surprised. But I doubt this year. It's November. There has been no publicity.

What's the date of the VH1 Classic? Is it 2008, 2007? Sometimes they have the date on there. Is this new or an old show?
