Let it rock - When was this recorded?

Postby MarcelJordan » Mon Nov 17, 2008 3:13 am

I couldn't find any thread previously on this but this is a great tune. Anyone know when it was done?

I've heard two different time frames, either '81 or '84 intended for "Street Talk". I used to think it was from the former, but after listening a little closer IMO it doesn't sound like Smith's drumming style, nor Neal's guitar for that matter. I'm not 100% sure however, I wish I could help you more. :?

You did not provide a link. Is this the song demo that SP starts off with "Make the Stones jealous"? If it is, then I believe it was around '81-'82.

That's the one! :D

I think its sounds more like a demo, but the guys seem to be having fun.I happened to bump into an mp3 of it. Love it!

And I believe it IS Neal on guitar. I would assume its around '84 considering the drum sound.

Dit-fucking-to. It has too much punch to be a Perry solo song.

Pure speculation, but I'd guess the Departure sessions. I swear I could hear Gregg Rolie in the harmonies.

 You may laugh, but I've always liked that one live. David Bryan's keyboard intro is excellent! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fT4XTkn7pA

Let It Rock You sounds like it's from before ROR........doesn't sound like Perry's ROR tone.

No, it was recorded last week. It's for his 'upcoming solo album'.
Geez, where you guys been????
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Same here! And back in the late 90's I always thought it was cool going to Cleveland Indians' games here and Jim Thome would always come up to the plate to that song! Hate the bastard now, but he had good taste.
