His voice is shot, the arrangement was putrid, and what the blue blazes is that thing he does with his mouth??? It looked like he had corn stuck in his dentures and was trying to work it out.
That was bloody AWFUL!

I wouldn't be so hard on Barry. There have been plenty of pictures where Perry looks like he just stepped off an indian reservation himself.
Barry has had three number one singles and been selling out his shows for 3 years straight in Vegas. Dude is 65 and still out there performing (unlike a certain person to remain nameless). I give the guy major props for not abandoning his fans and still putting a product out there for his loons to enjoy. It beats playing the same 10 records over and over again.

I could happily never ever hear this song again. Even the Journey version. Just completely over played and over done. So many other great tunes to play instead...

Well... ok, can't argue with you there. But he still looks like a drag queen.
Anyone ever see the Will & Grace episode where one of them was trying to get in line for Barry Manilow tickets, and there's this whole interaction with a Manilow loon (I think on the show they were using the word "Fanilow"...

). It was hilarous - it was just like I was saying the other day (in whatever thread) about how every celeb had that certain group of people who just do not know where the line is.

A shitty cover of a shitty original. I agree with Andrew...and that's a first.

Couldn't agree more. The song sucked when it first came out and sucks more now! Without Perry's voice (I don't even think Schon is on the recording), that song doesn't see the light of day, let alone become a hit. It's always pissed me off that such a DREADFUL song was Journey's highest ranking hit!

Ok - I recorded this on the DVR and I'm going to watch it now.
I will say one thing even before I watch - Barry's voice is nowhere near "shot". He sounds amazing live.

Just watched it....the timing seemed way off, sounded like a trainwreck at the beginning. I think he needs to kick the tempo up a notch if he wants to make that song work.
