There is a thread about from the other day.

I have an idea though. Just change your topic to Steve Perry announces U.S. Tour, and let's see how many views you can get.

I'm going to go out on a ledge and say no. Sony's only going to pay the people who are actually on that album I would think. Also Since Journey has re-recorded some of the songs from that album, I think the royaties will be less so there can be no double dipping. Sony owns Escape and the royalties are built with a time line so they depreciate over time. Journey has no footing to renegotiate to re-up their rate to take advantage of this renewed resurgence simply because they are with a new label and to add insult to injury, have re-recorded songs that were released under Sony. They could only have done the re-records if the lockout period was over, but it still isn't exactly favored upon by some. Perry, not doing re-records is a smart business decision, unless Sony asks him to do it for them, seeing as he has remastered stuff for them in the past it appears Steve and Sony are on Amicable terms. Perry obviously has some very smart people working for him and could concievably continue to make a killing while Journey labors on doing all the work but not getting all the benefits.
I could be completely wrong about all of this, so if some is in the know, please explain how this stuff really works.
