Next single off Revelation?

Has anyone heard?

Keep in mind that the Eagles second single off their Wal Mart release "Busy Being Fabulous" was bigger than their first "How Long".

Here is hoping for good things.

I don't think you can put it in the same time table. The Eagle's first single came out two months before the album was even released. The second single came out two months before the group even started their tour.
Journey's album isn't even a blip on the charts anymore and their American tour is over. If Revelation had been a reunion album with Perry, we could compare the release strategy of both artists but for now the Eagles are in their own league and what equates to success for them is so far ahead of what Journey might muster with another song being released off of Revelation.

I would co-release Where Did I Lose Your Love and Turn Down The World Tonight to their respective stations.

Then someone screwed up strategically. There should have been a second single off that album. Especially when the first went all the way to #10 on Adult Contemporary. When was the last time any of Journey's contemporaries charted (and I don't necessarily consider the Eagles a contemporary)? The only one I can think of is that Styx has a minor minor AC hit with a single called "Paradise" , a studio track off their 1996 live album "Return to Paradise" but it only went to AC #27. So, why do a one and done single release strategy? They could have provided that album a lot more longevity. Part of the reason its not even a blip on the charts anymore is self-induced.

Didn't Journey get the majority of their money up front with the Walmart deal? If so, then they probably wouldn't looking at releasing many tunes from this last album anyway.

I don't look to hear anything else new from Revelation. Heck, I never heard any of the new songs on the radio to begin with. Not even the remakes of the classics.

The next release (if there is one,) should not have any remakes of anything. Needs to be all new songs. I'm wondering if the next release will be a Walmart thing again or will they go back to more traditional ways of releasing their stuff?

Seeing that Like a Sunshower is the BEST song on the Cd....I think that song should be released. Make it happen!

What "next" single? Find me 50 people not from any Journey board that even knew Journey had a single out this year. I knew about it and even *I* never heard them, or heard talk of them. I heard talk of Journey and the Arnel situation on the radio a few times, followed by a spin of a Perry/Journey song, but that was it - none of them ever mentioned a song title.

At this point the buzz is done, so if they were going to strike, they probably should have by now.

I absolutely love Like a Sunshower (very retro '70s vibe), but I feel Turn Down the World Tonight will be a better single and is a really beautiful song and more commercial than Like a Sunshower. To me TDTWT is much better than After All These Years, and AATY is getting a lot of airplay.

That's the rub isn't it? Every time I heard mention of Journey or Arnel, it was followed by the ORIGINAL version of Faithfully or Who's Crying Now.

AATY got all of its play on satellite radio...and it got a lot.

In our office the station they listen to plays AATY a few times a day. I was really surprised. It's not satellite radio.

Sirius Starlite (channel 2) is the ONLY station that played it. I don't know about XM, don't have that.
But I have Journey on my "artist alert" so if it came up on any other channel I'd have known about it.

I think Uncle Joe and KLOS are on the "Screw Perryless Journey" bandwagon. It is the premier Classic Rock Station in Los Angeles yet the only thing I ever heard was NWA as bumper music on their morning show. When they did their tailgate music for the Journey show at the Greek, they played Departure. I don't know if they were trying to say something subliminal or what, but I would have expected for them to at least play Escape or Frontiers if they didn't want to promote Revelation.

I heard AATY on the radio a handful of times, and they were always when I was in a car with a satellite radio, or along the Nowheresville Highway. Not once did I ever run across it on Chicago radio, other than that first time wayyy back in the spring.

Sunshower sounds like the 70s era Journey....Infinty-Departure....in other words, the BEST era of Journey. PWNED!

Best era for me was Escape/Frontiers/ROR. Although Infinity remains one of my favorite albums of all time.

My favorite song off Rev is TTWDT, followed by NWA. The rest just so-so. Never heard any new songs on the radio here, either.

I have several friends who are now aware of post-Perry Journey, even though they don't know it's post-Perry, for they have heard and know AATY from radio.

"After All These Years" actually made it to #9. But it was released with "Never Walk Away" which did NOTHING on ANY chart.

Styx had a pretty big hit with their cover of "I Am The Walrus"

It is stupid to not have released another single. But since "Never Walk Away" did nothing and "After All These Years" was still a success on the AC Charts until after the tour was over, there was no room for another ballad and no reason for a rocker.

MAYBE, when the band start their Asian trek, they might consider throwing another single out there. It ain't gonna HURT, that's for sure.

What's the point of pushing a single if there's nowhere for it to be played? *shrug*

New albums by bands like Journey and Styx are for the hardcore fans...the Wal-Mart deal generated some extra casual sales but didn't generate any long-term interest or lifespan for the album. Labels and stores are no longer interested in records that develop and sell over long periods of time...once the first couple weeks are over, your album is pretty much done.
