OT: Ann Coulter's Jaw Wired Shut After Accident

Conservative Pundit Silenced
Nov 25, 2008

A liberal dream has been made reality. No, we're not talking about the election of Barack Obama with a Democratic Congress. It seems that Ann Coulter, the willowy, blond conservative bomb thrower has been forced to shut up, after she took a fall last month and sustained injuries that have required that her jaw be wired shut.

This means that for a little while at least Ann Coulter will find it a little difficult to talk. Her computer is still functional, we hear, and so she will at least be able to make her thoughts known on the printed page and the Internet.

The accident that broke Ann Coulter's jaw comes at an unfortunate time. Barack Obama has been elected, which should serve as great inspiration for Ms. Coulter's sharp tongued wit. Ann Coulter is also coming out with a book, with a title that is the soul of wit in its brevity: Guilty. Ann Coulter's Guilty, which comes out in January, is said to relate the thuggish behavior of Barack Obama surrogates in attacking his opponents while the candidate himself pretended to be above the fray.

The jaw wiring procedure requires that the jaw be held immobile for several weeks, so there is a little hope that Ann Coulter will be able to talk in time for the book tour. At the current time, Ann Coulter is finding recording the audio version of Guilty a little difficult to say the least.

Next to Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter is likely the most hated by the left conservative pundit live. One reason is that Ann Coulter is not afraid of saying things about liberals that are politically incorrect. Ann Coulter recently got into trouble for calling into question former Senator and Presidential candidate John Edward's sexual orientation.

Hell I am conservative and I agree FINALLY! I can't believe how she says some of the things she says. Not that I disagree with much of it, but it could be put better.

I know a way to shut her up but I'd have to knock her teeth out first (just to be safe).

I wonder who paid for the hit to have her jaw broken?

Same here, bro. I'm no political hack -- I try to be objective and honest, and I can't stand her... she's part of the problem, not the solution. I also agree with most of her views, but her sarcastic delivery is often irresponsible, and she's another person like Sean Hannity or Tucker Carlsen who you never hear admitting to faults on their own side of the fence. That's what makes them hacks...

Speaking of political hackery, surely you've seen the video of Jon Stewart on Crossfire calling out Carlsen and Begala... some people credit that appearance with getting the show cancelled. If you haven't seen it, it's GOLD... search YouTube for JON STEWART CROSSFIRE and you'll find it.

Heh. That warms my heart.

I can't believe I'm actually typing this, but deep, deep down I do hope she makes a full recovery STRICTLY from a human-to-human standpoint.

Terrible news. I think Ann Coulter is great. She'll be fine, though.

Why do the nasty responses not surprise me the least.

What is it about the libs? The over the top hatred. The continued venomous comments. Your saviour was elected! Is that just going to feed the hatred? At least the many of the wacko conservatives don't wish or savor bodily injury or ill will on anyone that doesn't agree with them.

I don't agree with many things she says. I definitely don't agree with what many of the left wingers have to say, but I can't say I'd take joy in hearing about them being sick, injured, or worse. You guys are sick.

Agree with you on Hannity, but Tucker, along with Novak and Buchanan, called the Iraq War a fraud very early on.
Relatively speaking, Tucker is one of the more honest ones.

Stewart's a moron.
Crossfire was the ONLY news show on television where both the liberal and conservative alike were sounding the alarm about going into Iraq.
Likewise, Begala forecasted that Michael "heckuva job Brownie" Brown's appointment to FEMA would spell absolute disaster - long before Katrina.
Since Stewart's antics, what has replaced the even-handed Crossfire?
Three hours of Wolf Blitzer screwing both sides.

I know it makes Conservatives sleep easier by thinking for every Conservative action there is an equal Liberal reaction, but this moral relativism stuff does not always apply.
Show me where Franken has said anything that remotely compares to "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity," or insinuated that a Senator is a "faggot" live at a Conservative Political Action Conference, and the list goes on and on.

Coulter, like Savage, resides in hate-filled nebula all her own.

I've never been too big on extreemist, Left or right. But I would not wish harm on anyone. That said, maybe it will tone her down some. She and I do not agree on many things. But there are extreemist on both sides that could use humbling. :D

I never said Franken has said things like that. They are both imbeciles who think they are funny. That's the comparison in my mind.

The difference between Al Franken and Ann Coulter is that Franken actually tells the TRUTH most of the time.

You can "agree" with her hatred of liberals, but she is so often factually inaccurate as to render her "opinions" moot.

I wish they would wire her mouth shut permanently  . I noticed this last election I didn't see her utilized very much for her opinions or commentary on TV.

Nope...His book about "lying liars" was frought with nearly as many, if not more lies, than the supposed liars he was talking about, not to mention his underhanded financial dealings with his radio show and the Air America network.

Proof, Dave?

Unlike Coulter, Franken backs up his books with thousands of sources - most of them government statistics.

You're hilarious. The problem with those "thousands of sources" is that they're full of half-truths, if not outright lies. If you're not able to find them yourself, you are indeed pitiful. Just go to frankenlies.com for starters and there's plenty of other sites detailing the MANY problems that Franken has with the truth.

Here's a specific one detailing a Franken lie about Ann Coulter... http://www.frankenlies.com/truth/powell.htm

She is intelligent and articulate, and in my opinion not helpful at all to the cause of civil dialogue. But that is her trick. It's what gets her on tv and radio and sells books. She knows it, the media and publishers know it. If people didn't buy it or watch, we would never hear about her again.

Not defending bullshit here, but a tally of 26 lies (several of them simply a difference of opinion) out of a 300+ page book isn't really so bad.

There are more than 300 lies, misrepresentations, or fallacies in her latest book. Franken's 26 pales in comparison.

So, those of you who "agree with her"...do you "agree" with this?

What Ann wrote about the so-called "Jersey Girls," and not all the other 9/11 widows in "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," was "these self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them, The whole nation was wounded, all our lives were reduced. But they believed the entire country was required to marinate in their exquisite personal agony. Apparently denouncing Bush was an important part of their closure process. These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzies. I've never seen people enjoying their husband's deaths so much."
