Did you see that ??

I NEVER watch the Parade....the one time I turn it on....

The "Foster Puppets" float was singing the "Best Friends" themesong from "Courtship of Eddie's Father" - then, it stopped...

...and "Never Gonna Give You Up" started - and RICK FREAKIN' ASTLEY walked out!!
It was lipped, of course.....he couldn't keep a straight face.

Soon to be on the 'Tube.... 8)

Sounds hilarious, can't wait to see it. I'm surprised that he's not trying to capitalize on his fame a bit more. He could probably do pretty well touring in the US.

Oh yeah - Forgot:

The Announcer @ NBC said something like:

"....and that was Rick Astley, singing his "Rick-Rolling" hit, "Never Gonna Give You Up..."

Rick Astley has a always been a dork. I have no idea how he got a hit song. I think it sucks. Maybe his daddy was a record company executive?

So am I the only one who thinks he could be Clay Aiken's daddy?

(True: In 1988 I had a Rick Astley poster up in my room. I loved him. )

He does look like Clay Aiken now!   I liked the song in the 80's. I just think it is showing what a good sport he is to play along with the Rick Roll craze. :D Happy Turkey Day Rhi! And to all on MR.............

You guys have all got to be kidding, right? Is this the song you are talking about:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOU8GIRUd_g

That is the fucking gayest song I have ever heard, and the video is even gayer. Not that I hate gays or anything... I just don't like gay music.

When I was younger I hated 80's retro music. I have warmed-up to some of it like Duran, Duran, INXS, and a few others - but I fail to see any musical or artistic value in this song.

Oh well... nothing personal... I just don't get it.

:?

Rick has two more number one hits than Journey does, and I'm not talking just the A/C charts either. “Cry for help” is a very good ballad. 40 million albums sold, 13 top 30 hits and his wife has Acadamy Award nominations to boot.
Rick's not just another pretty face, you know.

Really? I had no idea. Today is like only the second time I have ever heard his name. I pretty much stuck to rock music and never paid much attention to whatever style it is that he sings. The first person that came to mind when I saw the video was Carrot Top.

Does this guy look like a rock star?

If so, then this guy is a metal god:

Just caught it on YouTube, and that was indeed awesome! America as a whole just got RickRolled by the man himself! While it pales in comparison, here is one of my favorite RickRolls - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65I0HNvTDH4 - The Barack Roll.

Just watched a Duran Duran concert on VH1 Classic from Wembley Stadium a few years back and it was awesome. Simon could still bring it.

America loves white recording artists that sound black. Case in point:
Rick Astley
Billy Ocean
Taylor Dayne
Michael Jackson

Ocean's Parent's were Granadians, and probably of African slave origin as is much of Granada's population with a minority of mixed race and Indian thrown in. I don't think he can be considered white.
