I was wondering............I have an old radio interview of Steve Perry on cassette. They called him up at 5:30 in the morning and woke him up, and had him doing interviews with fans and he stayed to play stump the band. He was hillarious and I want to share it, but how do I record it to a CD then get it on the computer to share with you? I have several good inteviews and things on cassette. Some maybe none of you have heard. Please help if you can. :D

The only way I can think to do it is to find a cassette player with a headphone jack. Find an audio cord that has an 1/8th inch jack on each end of it (Radio Shack). Plug one end in the headphone jack on the cassette player and the other end into the 'line-in' jack on your audio card on your computer. Use a program like Audio Editor Gold or similar to record the cassette to the computer. It will record it straight to an mp3 file for you. You can't use the Sound Recorder that comes with Windows because it will only record for 30 seconds at a time.

If your cassette player has two rca jacks on the back, Radio Shack also has a cable that is RCA left and right to stereo 1/8th inch. They looks like the pic on the left, and the 1/8th to 1/8th looks like the pic on the right.

Well I have one of these, just hooks up to my other stereo system. Can record from casette or turntable to a CD.

But I guess that doesn't help you very much, does it?

Thanks guys, I will certainly look into getting something along those lines to try and record my cassette inteviews. I am afraid after a while the cassettes will wear out anyway. I would hate to loose some of these gems. One is Steve Perry singing a Christmas song for the Mark and Brian show! :D

What thread?

The song goes, in a very Nat King Cole kind of way:

I'm sorry,
I can't ride your float
Next Tuesday,
My manager told me so,
He said you've got places to go,
People to see,
Who are all waiting there for me.......
To sing, jingle bells, cockle shells, laughing all the way!...........
That's what I came here to say..........
But maybe next year..........
If your show.......is still..........here......... :D

It is absolutely beautiful! If it were not just a silly way to say I cannot ride your float!

Hey guys, what is a good program for burning CDs? I have a bunch of music files on my
computer that I want to put onto discs (the only way to get through road trips),
but I need a decent and relatively user friendly program. Something that allows me to
level the volume so that I don't have one song low and then the next blasting
out the speakers and also lets me know how much space I have before I go to burn.

I was using just the Windows Media Player before and it's not good!

I use iTunes to burn audio cd's now. Before that, I used Nero, but iTunes is easier and free. The link to Nero is for a 15 day trial.

I would offer to try to copy that cassette to a CD for you, but with my luck, I'd put it in the cassette player and it would get eaten. Those old tapes or old tape players get sticky. I don't want to be responsible.

Shoot I would make a copy cassette and give it to you if you could do it.....problem is how to get it to you! LOL! I had a few sweet friends who made me these tapes in the 80's when we were all force members. We would send each other tapes and pics via the mail. There was alot of great stuff out there then........... :D

Rick, I might look into getting that converter that Voyager talked about. I might have to wait a while, finances are tight right now, but when I can I would love to share with everyone. I just didn't know if it was possible! Thanks to all that were kind enough to try and help..........! :D

Plug the red and white RCA cables from your cassette deck in to this and connect this to your LINE IN or AUX IN on your soundcard. Pretty much the same equipment Rick mentioned in an earlier post.

$6 dollars with tax

Rick, you're clearly the man in the know here.

I was in the front row dead center at the Journey concert in Denver this summer.

Using my verizon cell phone, I was able to capture several videos thru out the evening.

Unfortunately each of the snipets are only 15 seconds long.

I uploaded them from my phone onto verizon's site but now I have no idea how to pull them off and get them to somebody who'd know how to create a video with them.

Could you help me? How do I do this?

Can you post a link to the videos from your Verizon site? If you can, I can take them and make a video for you.

Just check and see if there's a way to share them with others. That should do the trick.

I'll have to check back here tomorrow. It's way past my bedtime.
