its in Oak Cliff.. have to pay a guy $20 bucks to park in his yard.. the yard owner is named "murder"..
the cotton bowl stadium was built with seats so close to each other you cant move..
if someone has to get past you.. you HAVE to stand up to make room..
however ,, the Welcome Inn is close by.. and ALWAYS has room for rent..dont stick your arm down the holes in the wall.. dont touch the remote.. dont answer the door! she wants your money..

If I'm not mistaken, the Fiesta Bowl gets to pick from the at-large teams before the Sugar Bowl does in the BCS pecking order:
The Big 12 is affiliated with the Fiesta Bowl, so Texas (as next-in-line from the Big 12 after Oklahoma) goes there.
The SEC is affiliated with the Sugar Bowl, so Alabama (as next-in-line from the SEC after Florida) goes there.
The Fiesta Bowl gets to pick whichever at-large they want to play Texas, so they pick Ohio State. The Sugar Bowl is up next and picks (or is stuck with) Utah.
So the Fiesta Bowl gets the more attractive matchup on paper, because they get dibs on who they want to play before the Sugar Bowl does.

Yeah, there's a pecking order in these BCS bowls that makes things confusing. But you have to remember that the BCS formula is designed to just pick the top two teams to play for the National Championship.
And you also have to remember that there are conference affiliations in these bowl games, so the league champions are usually automatically locked into a certain BCS game (unless the champion goes to the BCS Championship Game):
Orange Bowl: ACC vs. Big East
Sugar Bowl: SEC vs. at-large
Fiesta Bowl: Big 12 vs. at-large
Rose Bowl: Big Ten vs. Pac-10
The at-large spots can be filled by another team from the BCS conference, or a team from a non-BCS conference. It's up to the bowl to pick who they want.

Won't happen. Whichever team wins the BCS National Championship Game will be the #1 team in the country (as it should be). I think the BCS got it right this year. And before you tell me that Texas should be in over Oklahoma because they beat them, remember that one of the factors in the BCS formula is margin of victory. And Oklahoma certainly took care of that by scoring 60+ points in their last five games.
Gunbot wrote:Anyone remember Texas beating Michigan in the RoseBowl? They could mix it up, but now, it looks like we'll get a game like Hawaii/Georgia again. Not good.
Gunbot wrote:I'm actually pulling for the RoseBowl winner. I thought the BCS was supposed to mske running up the score a nonfactor because of the shit Spurrier used to pull?

Why would they pick Ohio State you ask? A boring, Big Ten team who seemingly gets hammered in every big bowl game in recent memory(before you say "they beat Miami"..true, but it was on a fluke no call PI in the end zone). The Fiesta picked OSU for one reason. Buckeye Nation travels as well as anyone in the nation(Notre Dame in Hawaii will sell out too because all the fuckin rich catholics)...

That happened because the Pac-10 champion, USC (who usually goes to the Rose Bowl), was in the national championship game. All bets are off when a conference champion goes to the national championship game. That's why that Rose Bowl was mixed up.

If they don't do a playoff, they should just go back to the traditional matchups and play on New Years Day. Fuck this BCS bullshit.

You havent made one truthful comment about anything other than what sounds like a jealous fan of another team that always underachieves. There used to be another poster on here that shared the same outlook, I think he was a Washington State fan.
"Granny", Everything you said about Florida's inability to cover OU sounds like the same shit I heard about Alabama, who I believe would also beat OU and anyone in the PATHETIC Pac10. Florida took their hearts and showed them reality just as they will do to OU. I can promise you that Bob Stoops doesnt share your feelings as many of the rational OU fans dont as well. Once again it comes down to such jealousy over the SEC that you dont see things clearly. If you really think Urban Meyer is concerned about the OU defense then you need to switch the brand of beer your drinking. Urban knows this team plays in the SEC and nothing outside of the conference is more than what we've already seen throughout the year. Stoops knows his team is in for a dogfight. He knows his team is playing the toughest game they'll play this decade. "Granny", I know you'll never give any credit to Florida and I dont expect you too but rather than butting heads with you here Im gonna just chalk it up to what I know vs. what you know. Florida by +14.

MidNightTrain wrote:Yes Ohio State beat Miami in regulation and overtime. Ohio St completed a pass for a first down that would have ended the game. Officials called it incomplete and allowed Miami to tie.
Miami committed an obvious defensive penalty that only tied the game in Overtime. It was a delayed penalty only because the ref didn't know whether to call defensive holding or pass interference. If you watch the whole play the defender was all over him and since the ball was passed to him, you have to call the penalty, otherwise Miami would have won on a no call. Ohio State then scored a td and stopped Miami to win the NC.
You are incorrect about the fluke no call (it was the exact opposite). You "bought in" to the hate Ohio State hype. Ohio State is 4 -2 in the BCS and 4 -1 in Arizona Bowl games.
