Arnel took pleasure in Journey being part of the featured memorabilia in the international chain's exhibit which also showcased souvenirs from icons Tina Turner, Jon Bon Jovi, Madonna, etc.

As the special guest, AP kept off Journey hits due to contractual restrictions, but nevertheless rocked the venue with other tunes (yes, covers) reminiscent of his (Zoo's) past Hard Rock gigs...excusably so in this case, IMO

Arnel and the Zoo Band also performed at Manny Pacquiao's birthday bash. Just giving everybody a heads up especially those who are annoyed by him performing without Journey. Bash away dudes :lol:

Believe it or not, Rolling Stone's Year in Review edition speaks about Journey finding Arnel via youtube, and actually says it is the first time in decades they have filled arenas and that Arnel says the road is "sad."

. I'm glad he did Journey songs; good publicity for the tour.

The dude was probably singing an average of one song a week last month and increased a bit to 3 this month. Do you really think this is tasking his voice?

Arnel regularly interacts with his mostly-Pinoy fans through his website. I am thinking that the songs he is singing now are the ones that his fans want him to sing. As I said before, when he is in the Philippines, he will sing whatever the Pinoys want.

In fairness to JOURNEY I am more concern about Arnel's international status rather than locally coz it was there (US) that Arnel shines and given a deserved recognition but i have nothing against Arnel's TV guesting and media exposure as he needs it to promote their Asian Leg Tour, i just only hope that MR. Bert De Leon have Journey's permission about how Arnel perform in any shows in the Phils.

Layman here...I don't think sporadic 5-minute-or-so guestings are that taxing; they could even be exploited to be of conditioning value vocally

I would like to believe that Arnel's performances of late were calculated moves sanctioned by Journey management itself, with ultimately the band's interest in mind :wink:

I bet they do have Journeys permission for whats going . The rest of Journey probably realise that a good chunk of the album sales and fan attendence this year was down to Philipinos excited about Arnel. They're probably thinking , "We really wish he wouldn't do this stuff," but they know what side of their Wonder bread is buttered.
