OT: No Birthday Cake For Adolf Hitler

Postby T-Bone » Wed Dec 17, 2008 9:31 pm

 What knucklehead would name their kid Adolf Hitler? This poor kid is going to suffer for this, and from the looks of it, his siblings will too.....

Happy birthday, Adolf Hitler! Boy with nazi leader's name denied ShopRite cake

This Hitler youth is blond-haired, blue-eyed and just turned three.

Adolf Hitler Campbell is the middle child of three kids given Nazi-themed names by their parents, including a dad who denies the Holocaust occurred and decorates his home with swastikas.

"They're just names, you know," father Heath Campbell told the Easton Express-Times. "Yeah, they (the Nazis) were bad people back then. But my kids are little. They're not going to grow up like that."

Adolf has two sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie. The latter, just eight months old, was named for Nazi leader Heinrich Himmler.

The bizarre names came to public attention after a local ShopRite declined to provide the Holland Township, N.J., family with a cake inscribed "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler."

"Other kids get their cake," Campbell complained. "I get a hard time. It's not fair to my children. How can a name be offensive?"

The kids are growing up in a home festooned with a swastika in every room. The father wears boots that once belonged to a Nazi soldier, and claims a relative was a member of Hitler's feared Schutzstaffel.

The parents insist they are not racist, although they don't believe in mingling the races.

And Heath Campbell claims he doesn't understand why people are shocked when they hear his son's full name.

Someone give him a history book.

Supermarket defends itself over Adolf Hitler cake

EASTON, Pa. – A supermarket is defending itself for refusing to a write out 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell's name on his birthday cake. Deborah Campbell, 25, of nearby Hunterdon County, N.J., said she phoned in her order last week to the Greenwich ShopRite. When she told the bakery department she wanted her son's name spelled out, she was told to talk to a supervisor, who denied the request.

Karen Meleta, a ShopRite spokeswoman, said the store denied similar requests from the Campbells the last two years, including a request for a swastika.

"We reserve the right not to print anything on the cake that we deem to be inappropriate," Meleta said. "We considered this inappropriate."

The Campbells ultimately got their cake decorated at a Wal-Mart in Pennsylvania, Deborah Campbell said Tuesday.

A Wal-Mart spokesman told The Associated Press on Wednesday that in light of the incident, the company would review its guidelines regarding cake decorations and other requests.

"It's clear that in serving this customer, some people were offended," spokesman Greg Rossiter said. "As a result, we're going to review our policies."

Heath Campbell said he named his son after Adolf Hitler because he liked the name and because "no one else in the world would have that name."

The Campbells' two other children are named JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, who turns 2 in a few months, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, who will be 1 in April.

Campbell said he was raised not to avoid people of other races but not to mix with them socially or romantically. But he said he would try to raise his children differently.

"Say he grows up and hangs out with black people. That's fine, I don't really care," he said. "That's his choice."

He said about 12 people attended the birthday party Sunday, including several children of mixed race

If they are just names then why doesn't the father change his own name to Adolf Hitler and see how far he gets in life. Poor kids.

Why didn't he just name his daughter Jezabel? Or his son Judas? Or Satan? What is in a name? Some names carry a great deal of hate, and shame with them........ Poor kids........ I bet Daddy has a big bill each month on white sheets, and shops at ye ol skinhead shop for decorations and party favors. He knew exactly what he was doing when he named them. Stirring up his political agenda. Nice way to treat your kids.................

While your at it name them "Kick Me" and "Duffus"...........shows how much he truely cares for them........

Funny how he says he would not be mixing with "them" socially but says children of mixed race were at the party. Sorry don't buy it. All three kids have names of Nazi origin. The house is decorated in Swasitkas.......why? Because it is trendy to put the ugly black spiders everywhere? Because home and garden hasn't thought of it yet? Who does this guy think he is kidding! He is a racist! Put perfume on a skunk and it is still a skunk. It won't smell any better. Sounds like he is just playing it down for the press...

Hmmmm.... This is bound to get interesting

Adolf Hitler, Sisters Taken from Parents' Home

The custody hearing to figure out what should happen to 3-year old Adolf Hitler Campbell and his sisters, who also have Nazi-inspired names, did not happen as planned on Thursday. But no one is saying why.

People close to the case have been asked by the Prosecutor’s office to stop talking about the case because it involves minors.

The three children were taken from their Holland Township home Tuesday night by New Jersey’s Division of Youth and Family Services. The big question is why?

Their parents, Heath and Deborah Campbell gave all three of their children Nazi-inspired names: Adolph Hitler Campbell, 3, Joyce Lynn Aryan Nation Campbell, 1, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, who will turn 1 in April.

The story made headlines around the world in mid-December when Adolf’s parents asked a grocery store in Greenwhich, N.J., to put “Adolf Hitler” on his birthday cake. The store refused, saying it was inappropriate.

The store refused to give an apology when the parents demanded one. A local Wal-Mart ended up honoring their request.
The Campbells, in interviews, have said repeatedly that they’re not Nazi sympathizers or anything of the sort.

"I think people need to take their heads out of the cloud they've been in and start focusing on the future and not on the past," Heath Campbell said in an interview after the cake incident.

"There's a new president and he says it's time for a change; well, then it's time for a change," he continued. "They need to accept a name. A name's a name. The kid isn't going to grow up and do what (Hitler) did."

Last Friday, DYFS workers went to the home to investigate a complaint related to the children. Sgt. John Harris with the Holland Twp. Police Dept. was the police escort. He wasn’t told the details of the complaint. When the agency decided to remove Adolf and his sisters, Harris said they did tell him it was not because of the children's names.

“They assured me that removing the children had nothing to do with their names or the birthday cake incident. There were other factors that we were not privy to,” said Harris.

The sergeant said based on his personal experiences with Heath Campbell, he had no idea what could have led to the decision.

“Just from knowing Mr. Campbell from the past ten or so years, I've never known him to abuse his children and when he has talked about his children he has been very much into his kids. Very loving,” Harris said.

Local police have not had any reports of abuse or neglect.

Due to confidentiality laws, Kate Bernyk with the N.J. Division of Youth and Family Services would not comment or even acknowledge any involvement with the Campbells.

Calls to the Heath and Deborah Campbell were met with a message that the line had been temporarily disconnected.

I respect a persons right to name their kids whatever they want, but those kids are going to have a tough row to hoe with names like that. I think the parents are not only doing the kids a disservice, they're putting them in harms way. Very stupid.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.
