So I hear it was used in Adam Sandler's new movie. Does anyone know if the re-recorded version was used by chance?

The credits won't show which version. Just performed by Journey, written by Neal Schon, Jonathon Cain and Steve Perry. If it shows courtesy of Nomota, then you'll know it's a re-record. If people think it's Bryan Adams , chances are it's a re-record but you never know. Charlies Angels 2 used AWYWI which I thought Perry would block, so anything is possible as far as the original making it on this film.

Has anyone seen it to know if it was the re-recorded version?

Fans on AP's site say it's him, I guess it will come up in the ShoutBox soon enough.
IMDB had the comment about someone thinking it was Bryan Adams.

Either way, it will probably bump Sales for Journey's GH CD or the original Single from Escape on Itunes, the latter being more probable.

Upon further review, all download links for the Bedtime Movie's Soundtrack version of DSB point to Journeys Greatest Hits on Amazon and the original Escape version on Itunes.
I won't say it isn't Arnel's version in the movie but the original one is being offered as the soundtrack single. The end credits of the movie will probably get uploaded to youtube in a couple days and we'll know immediately which version it is then, if any one is still interested.

Interesting that all songwriting credits showing up now has SP pushed back to the last position ..., whereas he was always in the 1st. Even with the song, Lights, where we all know from the history it was mainly written by Steve ..., songwriting credit is now listed as: Neal Schon, Steve Perry.

Now, with news about a new round of old J songs showing up in movies, TV shows, etc., are these the Arnel-sung versions now?

Maybe we're just fans talking on a messageboard ..., and it's all speculation ... and none of our business, anyway ..., but it just seems more and more hammering is done to that Journey stone ... and final nails are being put on the SP reunion coffin.

I don't get this. HOW is there such confusion over whether its Arnel or Steve?
I mean, its not as if the two versions sound even close to each other.

You mean, sort of like the way Loons ooooh and ahhhh over every purported sighting of SP?
Or the way Journey fans will pay insane amounts for repeat viewings of the SAME playlist at different dates/venues?
Many of the plokkers are Arnel fans first, and Journey fans second, ...and more power to them
Some of the MR infestation are Steve Perry fans first and last.
More power to them too.

Yeah, it was a creepy movie. Especially considering that the real serial killer had spent some time here in Orlando and that place, "fun spot" in the movie is a little ride/game place my kids love to go to. There is always a Florida connection with serial killers, I swear!! Maybe because they can blend with the tourists! Charlize was amazing in that though. I can see why she won awards.

You know what's funny, I rented that movie when it first hit dvd and then couple years later, when I read about the whole Perry "involvement", (I hadn't really got that far back "into" Journey when I saw it) I remember thinking.... "Don't Stop Believin' was in that movie? Seriously?"

Just to clarify something   8) :

Cain, who attended Roosevelt University's music conservatory, said "Don't Stop Believin" was a collaboration with Perry and guitarist Neal Schon, but originated with him writing the chorus: "Don't stop believin, Hold on to that feeling . . ."

"We wrote the song from my chorus backward," he said. "It was very spontaneous."
