When/Why was this done? What do the MR readers/fans think of it?

I like it except that "The Hitmaker" or who ever is labeled for doing the remix, didn't need to use synth strings or the echo on part of the vocal harmonies.

It was done in 2005 for charity. If you buy off of CDBaby, part of the proceeds will go to Chicago WhiteSox charities. Itunes has it but I'm not sure how much will go to nonprofit if you get it from there.
Reverb is the hitmakers big thing so you'll hear it on all their stuff.
