Jimmy Barnes - Freight Train Heart

Hi,
Wanted to post this on the noticeboard but for some reason I can't log in, so I thought I'd ask you guys!
Does the 1988 US version feature different mixes from the original Australian Mushroom Records release (1987)? I recently picked up the latter (going cheap in a second hand shop) and I swear there are differences. I really noticed the difference when I got to Waitin' For the Heartache - there are backing vocals missing on the Oz release (spotted it when there wasn't the call-back of "reachin' out for you in the night" at around 3:35). I know there were struggles between Barnes and Cain in the studio over this album - could this explain (what sounds like) different mixes? The track order is different as well! Hmm...
Couldn't find any confirmation that the mixes are different with a quick google search. Personally prefer the US version, but then that's the version I've lived with for longest.
Of course, it may just be my wonky ears!
Ta!
- Danny.
PS: Absolutely adore 'Last Frontier' particularly the piano intro - has Cain written all over it!
