Hola..have you heard about than an image means more than a thousand words?..well i like to know which Album Covers you guys and girls love the most, is more controversial for u,or just hate it ?
I remember the case of the german rock band Scorpions with the Virgin Killer Album cover that cause controversy in the time the album was released (1976 or 77 i think). Mister Klaus Meine say after he regret use that inappropiate cover..and well i guess everybody knows here that cover (Virgin Killer) was censored in many countries and replaced with a scorpions band pic...well i think i agree with mister Meine that cover was really inappropiate specially if we think in all the pedophiles around.

-Here goes the controversial album cover art: Virgin Killer (censored)

Image

-Here is one of my fav ones/ Judas Priest: British Steel.. i think all their heavy metal is reflective of this cover art...very powerfull...steel sound...is all what heavy metal should be...breaking the law!!!!!

Image

-and this last front cover...i usually don't like albums cover art with the member of the group on it..but in this case..i don't know..SP seem to say "hey i'm on my own now...but still cool and gorgeous" hehe love it

* hope can understand my awful broken english =(

This famous album cover for Styx is above, below a painting by Surrealist Artist Renee Magritte..........powerful work.

And since I am on a surrealistic kick the TBF album cover was cool as well.

Is it me, or does it seem that album cover artwork is more sterile since they went to CD's? Either that or is it the diminished size takes away the impact of the work? Album covers used to be framed and hung on a wall!

One of my favorite album arworks - the Last Temptation by Alice Cooper. The album also came with a comic book which told the story of the concept album. All around it was great art .

We used to have a woman that worked in our office part-time. She was a singer. And her boyfriend was Riff of Molly Hatchett. I had no idea who Molly Hatchett was. I don't think they were a band at the time. I see on YouTube they do play together now. But he used to come in the office all the time to get her. Nice guy.

Always liked this one...

I do miss how the visual art aspect of music has kinda dissappeared, with the advent of the CD.

This may be the freakiest album cover I've ever seen, if only because it was released on 9/11/2001...Note the New York City skyline engulfed in flames, including the Twin Towers in the very center. The album was pulled a few days later minus the skyline in flames.

I had that one, and paid about $30 for it in a used CD shop (it was actually unopened). Has one of my favorite songs on it, "Temptation". Killer Kelley Hanson track!

One time when we were moving, my brother was over helping move and we all ended up rifling through a box of records I had in the garage and asked me how the heck I got my hands on this Poison album (below). I bought it at the record store, why? I had no idea, but I guess they edited/banned the original cover and sent it out with black outs?! Have no idea why, what's so bad about the cover, is it the tongue? :? Say what you want about Poison, that album has some fun songs on it. Think I'll hang on to that one. LOL have a bunch of picture discs too, remember those. I think I have all the Bon Jovi ones.

Very boring album cover, but I remember playing this Aerosmith live bootleg double album to death.
