I'll have you know - we eggshells resent the term, 'Whitey'. Just an FYI.

This is no sort of fair contest....  One has to be fucked in the head not to say Steve Smith.

Aynsley and Deen are both great, the other two were in the band for 5 minutes and Steve Smith is the frickin' bomb.

I agree, but Larrie Londin was a studio LEGEND. Check his discography at AllMUSIC.com.

They all have their pluses. I agree that Smitty is in the top few drummers alive, along with Weckl and Vinnie, IMO.

Smitty's my favorite drummer but, honestly, if I had to choose at this point, I'd keep Deen since he is such a good singer.

I gotta go with Deen, sorry. Deen is my favorite Journey member, partly in thanks to his great renditions of my favorite Journey song "Mother Father". Deen, is the dogs bollocks!

Yep, Smitty is probably the best technically.....but I have to tell ya, when it comes to live Deen's a lot more fun to watch. Not sure what it is, but he just exudes a passion for his craft up there on stage. :)

Music is much more of a feeling then technical skills for me, probably why I usually like bass more than guitar. Ever notice how a bass player plays bass more with his body and a guitar player plays more with his face (expressions).

Aynsley bangs hookers, so he wins this poll hands down.

You're right. Deen is definitely fun to watch, and definitely an awesome drummer.
I would never imply otherwise. But I'm a Smith girl. :D I could listen to that guy play all damn day.

Steve Smith comes in 2nd for the job that was harder than drumming, not busting out laughing at all those goofy faces Perry would make with his back to the Audience staring straight at Smitty and doing the humpty dance or whatever you would call it. I'm sure Smith wanted to throw a drumstick (or something even bigger) at him a few times.

I can't wait to vote for my favorite Journey singer! I wonder who it will be?

Ok, I admit to not memorizing every nanosecond of every Journey video/concert....etc....

But I HAVE to bear witness to the aforementioned humpty dance and the subsequent hurling of said items from the drum riser....

Fess up. Tell me now!

Dude every DVD has it, SP will be facing Smitty and look like a dog trying to swim after someone put whiskey in his water bowl, or he'll be near the side of the riser and Smith will being giving him the look out of the corner of his eye, like "one foot closer and you're getting it".

The most skilled drummer that has ever been in Journey is Steve smith, without question IMO. In fact Smith is the most skilled drummer in history, IMO.

However, I am equally impressed by the drumming of Dunbar and Castronovo IN JOURNEY as I am with Smith's drumming IN JOURNEY.

I think now we know why the TBF tour didn't happen.
Kind of hard to sing and run around the stage with a 16" Zildjian Crash up your ass.

Nobody, can burn like Steve Smith; Rubicon and WYLAW is a three alarm fire with Chain Reaction close behind. SS is thunder thumps all the way.
