Just ran across this post from yesterday. My heart goes out to the Sweet family, and they can use all the prayers they can get right now.

Love can at times be hard work
but it has the greatest of rewards
Leaving each other is the hardest of all
When lovers are seperated its like being torn apart.
Adam losing Eve loses a part of himself
Eve forever has the knowledge of losing paradise
I am so glad they found each other & have been there for each other
With the greatest love in your hearts that will take you through the hardest of time.
Sometimes you can go thru life trying but never getting it right
We really do have to remember to be thankful for every day
Life doesn;t seem to be fair
I hope somehow love will get you through
In this world life is one breath at a time until the last
Some of us have time to say goodbye
some of us are taken in the blink of an eye
You can say from the time we are born we are dying
Each & every one of us will come to that day
It certainly is comforting to have loved ones by our side
For I grieve the most for those who will leave this world alone

When you truly love someone they are
always & forever within your heart
It matters not how far you are apart
When you close your eyes for the last time
They will be the hand reaching down from the sky

I was just playing some Michael Sweet while driving earlier. He had a few solo albums that I really liked. Here is a song from one of them called "Second Chance". If you like Michael Sweet, listen to this song all the way through. It's really catchy. Michael plays all guitars, bass, keys, and vocals on it himself.

I was really into Stryper way back not because of religion
I just loved the vocals & the sound.
Had Yellow & Black Jacket but Soldiers Under Command was my favorite

Really loved "First Love" , "Together As One" & loved the Battle Hymn for its melodic range
Loved the soaring vocals
Great Voice.
Was a long time ago & it was one album that I trained my voice on along with Steve Perry & Pat Benatar then went more heavy... etc Rainbow " Street Of Dreams", Scorpions "Still Loving You", Steel Heart...Loved "Angel Eyes" that last note...~sighs~.

I knew nothing about the band Stryper personally
but I am glad to know MS has a wonderful person in his life who has always been there for him.

Let's hope there love can find a miracle/

That is really sad indeed  about Mister Sweet music career, well i'm not religious so i never listen to them too much in their best time, but i did hear the Album To hell with the devil and it was great..i remember also the movie Raging Angels, where Stryper was part of the soundtrack of the film..and another bands like Kingdom Come and Holy Soldier was on it.

This movie wasn't very good but tunes from the soundtrack is worth to listen

This is a great tune. I've been a Stryper/Michael Sweet fan since the '80's. Christian musicians always seem to be rather polarizing and they don't see much in the way of mainstream support. But, like him or not, Michael Sweet would be on anyone's short list when it comes to finding someone to build your band around. Regardless, nobody deserves to go through this kind of stuff. Over at the Stryper board (www.stryperforum.com) they are organizing a prayer vigil to offer support to the Sweet family. They are extremely Godly people and they truly blessed by this type of support.

I'd like to add John Schlitt, John Elefante, and Andy Denton to that list.

Definitely John Schlitt and John Elefante. I never listened to Andy Denton but I should check him out -- what band is he from?

Andy Denton was in the band Legend, who changed their name to Legend Seven. They only released two albums, one under "Legend" (their debut) and then one under Legend Seven, "Blind Faith". There's a British artist by the same name but it's a totally different person. He was also lead singer for the Christian band Ruscha, who released one album under that name in 1988 called "Come Alive" but I've never heard that one. They were apparently called "The Russians" previous to that. I'm not sure if Denton was with them before that, though. If I had to describe his voice, I'd say he sounds most like Joe Lynn Turner.

Rip, Here's a video of the band Ruscha from the 90s Christian show "Fire By Night"...The testimony by the two band members is interesting and the video starts after about 5 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFLGvK1b ... re=related

Here's a few others I just found...

Legend Seven ~ Colours
Legend Seven ~ Shoot Straight Johnny
Legend ~ After the Fall
Legend ~ Set This Place on Fire
Ruscha ~ Exalt the Name

Here's another song from Michael's 1996 solo album "Real". I really like his stuff from this era:
