Granted, this is taken from Wikipedia but, I hadn't heard this quote before...

"In a recent interview with former bassist, Sony record executive, and American Idol judge Randy Jackson stated that "Other than Robert Plant, there's no singer in rock that even came close to Steve Perry". Jackson goes on to say "The power, the range, the tone — he created his own style. He mixed a little Motown, a little Everly Brothers, a little Zeppelin." Jackson also puts the rumors to rest about Perry's voice saying "I just saw him not long ago, and he still has the golden voice."[9]

The 'Sessions' section in Mix Magazine's January 2009 issue quotes session musician Russ Miller as stating "Right now I'm working on Steve Perry's album."[10]"

The Randy Jackson quote surfaced around springtime or so. And wikipedia is editable by everyone and their brother so likely someone simply snagged the quote (and probably from here... lol) and pasted it in there.

Perry sends him money to say things like that.

It's been posted before, but not in it's own thread. RJ has seen millions of singers, albeit mostly amateurs, but that says a lot.
