Can't find anything on CNN about this but local Boston stations are reporting that there was a murder on campus there this evening. Hopefully this is just an isolated incident for this school that has already endured its share of tragedy.

That's such awful news for that school. Very saddening.

There's a report about it on their website.

I never attended VT (opted for neighboring Radford Univ., then a private school in NC)... but VT is my school, my team, and I have spent most of my 17-20 year old days in Blacksburg. I'm not sure, but I think that student center was the one they started building on in 2004. Tech didn't have an Au Bon Pain when I hung out there.

How sad... but don't let it be a scar on VT's face (I'm actually wearing my Orange Effect sweatshirt tonight, kind of weird.)... assault, rapes, and other violent crimes against women are far too common on many college campuses. My heart goes out to the family of the girl. Blacksburg, the entire New River Valley and all of Southwest Virginia is a perfectly safe place and beautiful too. I'm just speechless. :(

My son graduated from there...the same year of the massacre. Saddest graduation I've ever witnessed (for obvious reasons). Parents were there receiving post humous degrees for their deceased children. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house that day. It was unreal.

Another Asian killing an Asian. News reports that he stabbed the girl in front of witnesses and then decapitated her.

The University of Florida had something grisly like this happen in 1990. The Gainsville Ripper killed 5 students over 3 days, decapitating one of the girls.

And we all remember Ted Bundy's attacks on Florida State Students in the late 70's
