Sorry, I'm a diehard Bruce fan but this is the worst album he's made since Human Touch...I'd actually rank HT above this just for the title track and Jeff Porcaro's drumming.

Too early to assess, need more listens. Some songs do stand out as pretty good.

The Last Carnival, What Love Can Do, Life Itself and The Wrestler.

It's weird...I'm much more of a fan of Bruce's more rockin' stuff, but the only songs that really grab me on this are the song for Danny and "The Wrestler," both of which sonically would've fit well on Devils & Dust.

You're missing out on a lot of amazing music then.

What Bruce songs were in the new Adam Sandler movie? I've never owned any of his albums (yes...I know I'm a slacker!). I can't remember the name of the new movie, but it's new to dvd, and it's a drama which is new for Adam. Good movie, and Bruce had songs all throughout (at least I'm pretty sure it was him). What I heard were all pretty mellow songs, but they were awesome. I'd buy a cd today if I knew which one they were from. Help me figure it out!

As I just listened to Outlaw Pete and the melody is playing in my head...hmmm now a Kiss song comes to mind- this sounds like I was made for loving you!!!!! And somebody's already posted the same thought on You Tube:

He's put out a lot of other albums in the last 29 years besides "Born In The USA." The new one and "Human Touch" are really the only weak albums he's made since The River.

Are you referring to Reign Over Me, Jimbo?
If so....that's early 80's Bruce, I believe..... The River!!

Adam Sandler's got impeccable taste in music. So many great songs in all his movies.

You can watch Reign On Me on youtube, somebody posted in parts.

This one begins with a great Springsteen track. "Out In The Street"

First half of this album is a real struggle...Outlaw Pete is the worst opening track EVER but the second half features some strong tunes...

Ha, ha, 2nd time he's getting accused of plagiarism on his opening tracks. Radio Nowhere (Jenny - 867-5309) and now "Outlaw Pete" (Kiss - I was made for loving you).

It's listenable but I agree not a good album opener like Radio was.

The Boss accused of stealing from KISS, the world must be coming to an end.

This one sounds more like Radio Nowhere than Jenny.

I gotta agree about Outlaw Pete, Drew. I have really tried to like that tune but it aint happening. But I think there is some strong stuff on the record. And to me the WRESTLER tune is worth the price of admission!

And btw- if anyone in their right mind actually believes Springsteen purposefully lifted a melody from a 30 year old DISCO Kiss song, you need medical attention...

Added a few more above.

Really digging this one. A Bruce "train song"!

This one's pretty simple but a feel good singalong.

Ok, having heard all except one bonus track I can honestly disagree. I like more of these tunes right off than some of those on Magic. Not to say the others aren't weaker.

For one thing, it speaks more of hope and love than Magic did. Easily another hit album.

It does. The lyrics aren't great, but that doesn't really bother me...I just don't find any of the songs overly catchy despite the fact it's blatantly trying to be a pop album.

I'm glad Bruce is in a happier place, but honestly, he seems to put out weaker albums whenever that happens.

Rolling Stone gave Working On A Dream 5 stars. I honestly have never seen a 5-star review from them.

Outlaw Pete is an 8 minute EPIC. Such a great story and song.

Disagree Walrus. As Bruce himself said, "I'll put up the Rising, Magic and the new one against any three we have ever done." After Sunday's Halftime show, sales will be phenomenal.

No Ohio shows for Proggy. Need to go to Penn State, Hershey or Pittsburgh. This is just the opening leg with lots of dates to be added for multiple night shows.

Hate it when artists do that. Only playing TO (like it's the only big city in Canada  ), that's like only playing NY in the US. Bon Jovi ticked me off for years doing that, until they started hitting Vancouver and other Canadian cities again the last few years.
