I'm assuming this was your band that this happened to? What happened?

In my case, it was the other band we were playing with. They wanted to "open" (it was a Tuesday night...empty bar...just wanted to get out of there and go home) but, we got to. They INTENTIONALLY F#$ked up the sound so bad, I couldn't believe it!

Maybe they didnt like that pointing thing you do. Soundguys can be weird. Alot are has been musicians that didnt have the talent to perform,so the next best thing is to run sound,some ive delt with act like they are above you for some reason

If they did it on purpose, can you take them to court? Meaning, if you can prove that they did it because they wanted more money and you guys said no, so they screwed you over... hard to prove, but just a thought. Lawyers? Anyone? Buehler?

In all seriousness, remember when Van Halen was opening for Journey backin 77? Many and I mean many rumours were circulating that Journey's sound guys deliberately fucked up VH's sound to make Journey look better.

Oh and stevew, there is a sign the singer makes to the sound guy to switch to...nevermind.

lol thats right, That mother fucker Kevin Elson pumped them taped vocals in and fooled us all.Fuck sound guys, that fucker still owes me $5,000.00 I bet he did that shit Deano. Didnt work, VH can still pack a place with out having 2 other acts to bring people to make them look viable

What, specifically, did the sound guy do to make you think it was intentional?

1. I asked questions about how things were to go during the show; I was answered with sarcasm.

2. He basically TALKED DOWN to me, like I was stupid about how MY OWN KEYBOARD worked.

3. I had hardly ANY vocals in my Monitor - I asked for more, he said "More WHAT?" - I said "vocals" - he rolled his eyes.

4. My Mic would go out at times; my Keyboard went out at times; my PERCUSSION KEYBOARD DID NOT WORK AT ALL - even though he SAW me trying to hit the keys - didn't bother to help.

5. There was high-pitch feedback all thru our show....he set something; tried to go out to have a smoke right after....got to the door, GUESS WHAT? MORE FEEDBACK! He ROLLED HIS EYES and walked back to the board.

Oh, I could go on, but.....you get the picture....

Oh, and BTW - he also effs-up "Open Mic Nights" too, I've heard.....he's like 50-something years old & looks like he should be in Poison or something....
