Did anyone else notice the keyboard chord pattern was changed during the verse? It kind of sounded like a "boogie" pattern for those in the know. Not bad...but very different for sure.

Also, I thought it was slick when Cain grabbed the guitar during the guitar solo! Nice!

I couldn't hear Cain's synths at all; Neal was just thoroughly badass, though.

I wanna hear what it is about Cain that has you so bitter, Steve.

Cain usually impresses me; the bastard can whip out a mean power ballad, can play the fuck out of a piano, rhythm guitar, and harmonica. Not to mention I really liked "Every Generation." Not to mention he's aged very well and seems to still have a set of fantastic arms on him for a fucker who's pushing 60.

That said, I detest pretty much all of his solo work that I've heard and his version of "Faithfully" could be a dog whistle. True story: I have a friend irl who prefers Cain's version to the one sung by Perry.

There's no redeeming quality to that version. None. N-O-N-E. And I give Cain as much credit as humanly possible, but he doesn't have the pipes to try that.

Girl? No, lol. Just hoping that I age that well. As a lazy teenager, let me tell you, the idea of getting old is fucking scary.

Did anyone notice the revved-up tempo or was it just me?

The camera crew must have agreed with you. Cain seemed to get a lot of air time. Especially during the solo, they zoomed in on Cain playing most of it and not much of Neal. I guess Neal doesnt have as much control over NBC as he does Journey! I don't think there were any Deen shots til the very end either. But plenty of the Undertaker!

Couldn't hear it. Arnel's voice was so far up in the mix. Bands rarely sound good on live tv.

About Cain's version? He is the victim of my sarcasm and insults on a day-to-day basis because of it.

About you all kicking the shit out of him? Hell no. He's seen the extent of your cruelty and vindication. I specifically warned him about you.

Cain's played the guitar on a stand bit since 2000 or so hasn't he?

Check the Arrival DVD.
