Folks this is the best one yet.. I cant take credit for this. I was lead to it via a forum that rips the multitracks out of games like Rock band and Guitar Hero. At this time this is the only Journey song I know of that is in any of those games. If they release any more songs to these games then we will have more tracks like this..
This is Anyway You want it with ONLY Perry and backing vox with no swirly crap going on. It is pristine.. Enjoy.... DONT DOWNLOAD UNLESS YOU OWN THE SONG. But really, is there anyone on this board that doesnt own it ?

Thank You! WOW! That voice is pure gold and is the MAIN reason I became a Journey fan. It saddens me to think that maybe he has not wanted to sing since I Stand Alone except for a little background vocals a few times or in private due to the comparison and harsh critique that would be made towards any difference in his voice now and then...it is a shame because although there will be an inevitable difference due to time I feel he would still sound amazing and have the same drive towards doing his best and would still have the skills of a master of his craft. I wish he would just do his thing and not let naysayers stand in his way....but if he doesn't want to thats up to him ...maybe he feels he has nothing further to prove and I would agree with that....but it would be cool if he did something just for the love of it and would want to share it with the faithful.

I'm listening with headphones now.

Okay, I'm a little warm now. OH. MY. GOD.

I want more please. Sweet And Simple and Good Morning Girl? Heck, I don't care- they'd all do me fine. I didn't load up the others because I didn't want to put them on my work computer but think I'll go find them now.

Just thought of this one because it drives me nuts that I can't tell what he is singing on parts of the song: Dixie Hwy. I've read lots of lyrics all over and they don't seem to match up with what he sounds like.
Great work LD.

They used a lot of reverb and delay on Steve's voice in the studio. The older analog type, which is really warm and thick. I always wondered what vocal effects they used on his voice, and this makes it easy to hear them.
Thanks again LD!!!

Awesome, thanks for posting.
The whole thing is stunning, but the vocals on the ending...
Insane!!!
The funny thing is, the part that blew me away the most on this acapella version (that ending sequence), is pretty much low in the mix and fades out on the real version of the song. I mean you hear it, but you don't realize how damn incredible it is, like you can on this version!!!

I wish there was more Journey that I could get these tracks from but one can hope. Boston on the other hand... I can get pretty much every tune from the 1st album acapella as they have all been released and decrypted from Rock band... Delp was a bad ass mofo himself may he RIP.

This is ridiculous. Thanks very much. From 2:40 on, this is the perfect example why SP is the greatest contemporary singer of the last 100 years.
Tone, richness, range, sustain. It's insane how great this man sang.
I'm not exactly sure what he'll have when he comes back, but if it's 1/1000th of this, we'll all be lucky.
