I was reading about that. Very sad to see this. How is Tasmania doing in all of this?

Is there any relief in sight for the heat?

I'm praying for rain for your country.

My heart goes out for the lost.

The number is up to 76 confirmed dead. The cool change with some rainclouds came through Adelaide this morning, and hopefully with hit Victoria tonight and help with the fires. SA has been so very lucky with bushfires this summer; what's happening in Victoria could so easily be happening here in South Australia.

The Victorian Police have said that if they catch the arsonists who started these fires, they will be bringing in murder or manslaughter charges.

Andrew...as someone who has seen firsthand the damage and devastation caused by wildfires here in Southern California, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your beautiful country.

This is just awful. I hope is pulled under control soon. The devastation with these things is just heartbreaking. :(

I was living in Arizona at the time of the Rodeo-Chediski fire in 2002... won't mean much to you Aussies, I don't think, but I'm sure most in America remember it because it got so bad it was national news for awhile. The Rodeo fire took out nearly half a million acres and is to date the worst one in state history.

And to add insult to injury, the rest of the country is under water. 14 inches of rain in Queensland overnight.

Those people need a REO/Europe concert to raise money for the disaster relief.

That would bring in at least a hundred maybe 200 bucks.

Go fuck yourself. What you want me to do? Hold back the rains and snuff out the fires? Dude, a little humour is an ok thing. Man you are one bitter person. I would love to kick your ass. My act is tired? Dude, look in the mirror. You are a pissed off depressed heap of dung.

Almost always is.

I seriously don't think Dean is making fun of the fact that people died, here, ok? I'm pretty sure he was making fun of REO & Europe more than anything else. There is way too much depression and tragedy and stress in life, and I believe we'd all go raving mad without humor.

I have been holding your country in my thoughts and prayers for days. Although we don't have wildfires, we do have hurricanes and tornadoes. We lost 6 high school students when their school was hit two years ago. Mother Nature can be cruel. I hope your country will pull together to help all of those who have lost the most precious treasure of all...their family.

Good points, but you failed to mention that in addition to earthquakes, fires, tornadoes and hurricanes, we also have George W Bush. Even though that motherfucker is technically gone, his odor is still awash across the fields, valley's and mountain tops of America, and it's going to take a few years if not decades to finally rid ourselves of that painstaking 8 years.

As to what Madsplash is doing- nevermind that asshole. He is trying to smear me at any cost. Of course I feel terrible for our Aussie brethren. Seriously, but what can I do about it? I thought send the package of REO and Europe over was a nice gesture.

Your act is the one getting old. I've seen you hold constructive dialog with Dean, but I think that's just a smoke screen so you can hit him in the gut whenever you get a good shot. Just like here. But you missed with this one, because everyone here knows he's just trying to bring a little levity to an otherwise dreadful situation. It helps and you know it does. Have a nice day. :D

That's terrible...looks like the death toll is at 107 now. And, caused by a cigarette?! Here in So Cal we get the wildfires every year, but never with such a high loss of lives. My prayers for them.

Andrew and Ari, I heard this news this morning on the radio, my thoughts went immediatly to both of you. I am sorry for the loss of life, and for all the devistation and destruction. :( :( Australia is a beautiful country, and Ari knows I have had the priviledge to study it and its history with my students for the last few months. Ari, I read where these fires were started by arsonists. I can not fathom the heartlessness of such a soal. One must wonder if insanity or pure evil leads people to such attrocious behaviour. :x :x I hope they are found out and the blood of the innocent victoms are lain at their feet! Keep us informed. My heart and prayers are with all those who lost their loved ones.
