On "According To Jim" it was said that the characters Cheryl and Dana had made-out with Journey backstage at a concert. On "Still Standing" the character Bill was listening to music really loud, his wife walks into the room and tells him to turn it down, and he says "I'll bet Journey's wife doesn't tell him to turn down the music." The wife then tells him that Journey's a band not a person.

I will jump in before 'he who shall not be named' does and categorically state that this is all part of 'Marketing & Media Mastermind Steve Perry(tm)'s comeback plan and is in no way coincidental. It is in fact merely the tip of the iceberg and just a teaser of the carefully orchestrated and timed campaign leading up to the Hoarse Whisperer's upcoming long player.

It's just coincidence, nothing more.
I catch J references and music in the backgrounds of shows and news constantly on TV. Its no big deal.
You're so right - it is no big deal. Journey references are everywhere throughout tv shows. I saw two on reruns recently as well:
Just Shoot Me - David Spade singing DSB into an open champagne bottle
And one of the silliest uses -
Yes Dear - When one of the toddlers finally goes "pottie" by himself, the Dad breaks out singing DSB

I might need to copyright that before he snags it as the title of his next album (Greatest Hits III).
