Thoughts and Prayers for Mr. Swayze.

I'm watching Roadhouse and thinking that this man is one of the coolest to ever walk the earth. I'm also hearing that he is now weeks/days away from his demise. It's very hard for me to take, considering that I grew up with this great man and wonderfull actor.

All I can do is hope, pray, and be thankfull for what he has given me and my family.

God Speed, Patrick. If miracles exist, I hope there's one for you.

It's hard to understand why something like this would happen to someone so talented and to someone with so much to give.

I guess we all JUST NEVER KNOW.

God Bless everyone on this forum. Hug someone you love and tell them that you love them.

Damn. Sorry to hear that MS. I've always liked Swayze. His Barbara Walters interview was very inspiring. Him doing that tv show in the face of his illness was very brave and showed strength that few have. I'm praying for a miraculous and full recovery. God speed Patrick Swayze.

He's shown great courage and will leave with that legacy. If I were in his position, I'd only hope to be half as courageous as he's proven himself to be.

When "The Beast" comes out on DVD, I'm definitely gonna pick it up. I just can't keep up with a bunch of shows as they're running on TV... it's tough enough just to make sure I'm on the couch for 24 every Monday!

That cancer is a killer. It does not respond well to chemo. A family member has it now and reality is what it is and it is hard for his family.

Yea, my Mom had it and didn't last long. What he's doing/has done is amazing.

He's one of my favorite actors ever and the only time I ever met him, he made me feel like his younger brother, even though I had only met him 15 minutes earlier.

It's the kind of person he was/is. Never acted like he was a huge star(which he was as big as there was from 1987-1993)Just a freakin' cool guy who liked to hang out and have a beer. What a great man.

Hollywood could use more like him.

God Bless you Patrick.

24 is great. This season is a return to form. This past week's episode was maybe the best so far this season. Really great comeback after the dreary sixth season two years ago.

You're in Northeast Ohio, right? I can't even fall asleep with these ridiculous winds blowing around. Sounds like my windows are going to break open.

I live in Canton. But I'm at work at the hospital right now so I can't hear the winds. I hope it dies down before I go to bed in the morning!!

That Best show is pretty good, surprisingly gritty and dark, Swayze with a shady edge.

long live The Swayze

From interviews I've seen of him he seems to radiate a spirit that is rare in Hollywood..and even in the rest of society today. Of course everyone tries to show their best face in interviews but he seems genuine and not put on...a good man. I hope he doesn't suffer from too much prolonged pain. :(

All.

I like him-he's a great guy and this is sad- but smoking sucks- anybody that smokes - especially during before and after cancer (like Eddie Van Halen) is an idiot.

I was a pack and a half a day smoker for years and I quit by not putting a cigarette in my mouth and lighting it, and it didn't take having cancer to do it, so I can't accept addiction as an excuse.

Did it suck when I first quit? You bet, and I wouldn't have wanted to be around me, but cmon, if you are fighting cancer, there is no excuse. Your body needs every last bit of strength to fight that disease, inhaling massive amounts of toxins won't help.

People who have never been addicted to cigarettes don't know what it's like. I smoke, and can tell you, it's as bad as being hungry when your body wants a cigarette. They say cigarettes are harder to quit than Heroine.

I had a friend, who's mother had emphysema so bad that she existed on oxygen. She would turn off the oxygen just long enough to smoke, then would go right back to it. It's one tough gorilla.

Agreed, but I guess I can see it both ways here. I quit around 7-8 years ago cold turkey, and they said the first 3 days are the addiction and the rest is the habit. LOL, I hear ya, that first week was hell on wheels. If I wasn't chewing on a coffee stir stick, I was ripping somebody's head off those first few days. But have to say I wouldn't have been able to do near the travelling I've done the last few years if I was still a smoker. I mean crap.......up here in western Canada I heard they are now up to $11-12 a pack. I quit at almost $9 and thought that was outrageous when they went up to that. LOL, went from a smoking addiction to a music addiction......hell of a lot healthier. :)

But I won't begrudge Patrick for smoking now. I mean if this is definitely terminal and he's only got a limited time to live, if he wants to enjoy a few cigs until his time is up, why not? It's not going to change the outcome at this point. :(

Well that I will agree with. I mean, being honest, he doesn't stand a very good chance of living very long statistically so if he is indeed on his last legs, sure - enjoy those smokes...

Damn shame, I always liked his movies. I will shamefully admit I liked Roadhouse and teared up at Ghost!

Absolutely. He should be enjoying every little vice/treat life has to offer. Live it up with the time he has left.

Loved Red Dawn and he was good in Youngblood too. Godspeed Mr. Swayze.
