Journey Reunion Tour with Steve Perry

Its hard to believe that Journey has not toured with Perry since 87, over 20 years ago! The Journey men are getting older, Perry turning 60 this year, and most of the other members are in their late 50s. Any chance of a reunion tour with the guys still in good health and wanting to tour is getting slimer and slimer. Time seems to be slipping away. Does anyone think that Steve Perry and Journey will ever reunite again???

If with some miracle they did reunite, how much would you be willing to pay for a ticket to see Perry perform with Journey??

Fuck NO! That ship sailed a VERY long time ago. Perry hasn't been relevant in decades and neither has Journey!

And yet, here you are, posting away!

No-one is "musically relevant" anymore. There is something out there for everyone; and even the worst tripe is relevant to the douchebags who listen to it.

I will answer your ? I would pay $ 300.00 to sit in the very top last seat OF THE STADIUM but would not be able to get a ticket except scalping on E Bay

This has been discussed before over and over -- all through the years in all the Journey forums. Usually a new poster comes in and starts a thread like this -- and then gets all kinds of sarcasm and sh*t thrown at him/her. Frankly, people are tired of this topic so best let it die.

With that said, 2006 after SA could go no longer and SP rumored to be back in the studio would have been the time to wish for a reunion. At this point in time, after all that has transpired, there's just no snowball of a chance in hell that we will see a reunion in anyone's lifetime. About all we can hope for is a SP solo effort to knock our socks off.

Dude, Elvis is alive and well in Zimbabwe with Morrison and Joplin, hunting endangered Rhinos and living among the Shona in harmony.

Annie- I know this has gone on forever, but people will always have their debates. I think he holds a grudge deeper than the grand canyon but then says over the years says never say never. Steve & I are approaching our expiration dates so that is how I approach this ever happening. Now, if he lost tons in the decline of property values we may have a chance.

Hi, Neal.

Make sure Arnel gets plenty of rest before the next gig, OK?

If that ever happened, I'd pay whatever just to get a ticket. While I don't think we'd have to pay that much, I think it would be a huge success.

Squirt, I think you and I are around the same age. You may have been a fan a lot longer than I have, although I have caught up with all the history (soap opera). It does appear Steve is the one holding out, but it is his decision and his life. We don't know what his true feelings are ... all we can do is continue to admire and support his music. That's what fans do, right?

Certain people may poo-poo the idea, but the fact of the matter is IF this thing were to come to pass it really would be a pretty big deal. Neither Perry, nor Journey without Perry has been relevant in quite a number of years, but, when you put the two back together -- that's a completely different animal. Since the break-up, somehow the Legend of Steve Perry has grown (he wasn't always "The Voice" you know) while Journey, on the other hand, has basically toiled in obscurity. Heck, Perry's gotten more hype since he left the game than he ever did when he was out there busting his butt night after night.

IMO the reunion would be huge. And I think they could get some pretty decent ticket prices. I know I'd be willing to shell out a tidy sum.

Very true. I never even heard of Steve Perry until 2005. And the internet ... fansites/forums ... plus easy access to bootlegs brought back all the magic.

Ah...many are full of themselves...few respect one another...it's not a place for the meek...but stick around and you'll be entertained and I think you'll find most here are actually pretty good folks.

I don't think it would be any bigger than the tour this year. For all the old fans that might go, you would have an equal number of new Arnel fans that would be pissed and not go. Be honest, if the Filipino fans hadn't been at the shows this year, even these medium size venues that they played would not have sold out, let alone places like the Staples Center. Lets not even mention Stadiums.

I dunno, G., a Perry/Journey reunion tour would be more than just another tour, that would be an EVENT. I get the sense that it would be one of those spectacles that "old" die-hard Journey fans and "old" casual Journey fans would take great interest in if only just to say they were there. As for the Fillipino fans who came on board since the signing of Pineda, I can see where there would be some resistance, and heaven knows Journey is in no position to be alienating any fans. It could be a wash. I don't know about those large venue's either, it's hard to fill those places in general nowadays.

All I know is that, it is what it is, and will always be Perry !!!! That is when the hits were written , tons of albums sold and stadiums filled or multiple dates. He sang and wrote with Neal & John the hits. Journey is now just earning a living compared to the good old days. Now they have to team up 3 bands to fill a venue as in 3 way split of revenue. I will never say they should not take their very real talent and make a living, but only nothing will ever be the same or a huge again.

We all would like to see our favorite bands get back together with the original line-ups, and with Journey a reunion would be very magical indeed. It doesn't seem likely, but I would never say never...

lol ... what's hmpf, Jubilee? I've told my story of how I "discovered" Steve Perry a few times. Don't want to bore the folks with all the details now. Suffice to say, I am just like any long-time SP/Journey fan with my record/video/boot collection and more knowledge about their history and stories than most devoted fans. And I LOVE talking Journey.
