YES/Asia Summer Tour 2009

Alan White appeared on KZOK radio in Seattle to discuss the current Yes tour. Due to an illness in the band they have been forced to cancel all shows through the February 24th. During this interview he did say that the dates would not be made up in the current tour but they did plan on hitting those markets on the summer tour with Asia opening.

It appears that Steve Howe is going to be doing double duty this summer. This is kind of surprising considering he is closely resembling the Crypt Keeper as of late. All kidding aside he was the most energetic of the Asia guys and he can still wale on the guitar. This should be a pretty exciting show.

It would be nice if they could add a smaller Prog band out there to truly open the show. Spock's Beard would be my vote.

Steve Howe is living proof that you should eat a steak.

And you Springsteen haters who say Bruce is boring are going to see this? Jesus Christ, talk about sleeping. No bands are more boring than YES and Asia is flat out scary looking. Tales of the Crypt with guitars.

Yes is touring with their own YouTube tribute singer: Benoit David from Canada. Benoit was singing in a Yes-tribute band, "Close To The Edge", and was brought in because Jon Anderson is ill. He has been going through respiratory problems that has resulted in hopsitalization and surgeries, forcing the cancellation of last summer's 40th anniversary tour. And Rick Wakeman can't tour anymore due to his own health problems. So Chris Squire, Alan White, and Steve Howe have brought on Oliver Wakeman (Rick's son) on keys and Benoit David to fill the two spots.

Now Chris Squire has suffered some sort of blood clot that has forced the cancellation of all dates through February 24th.

And I guess Whetton won't be performing with ASIA either?

Wetton's fine these days. And as far as I know, Anderson's treatment hasn't included any surgeries.

It hasn't stopped Journey. They've been a tribute band(to The Voice)since the day they hired Augeri and fractured the stone. I still love em' but they're a cover band now.

I've heard this sentiment many many times on this and other boards and I vehemently disagree with it. Journey are the members of the band, and they made that music. It's not possible to cover your own music. A cover is when you're playing the music of someone else. If they were playing music from Street Talk, then yes, they'd be doing covers. If they're playing music from Infinity, the music they wrote as a band, it's not possibly a cover.

I'll shut up now.

Except for the massive Ego removal surgery the boys performed on him last summer.
