Agreed. He's always impressed me, and now even more so. Now we just need Bud Selig to do something about the $18 million he made last year.

So he's only going to make just under 9 million instead of making 11 million...

Who can live on that!? I better send him some coupons!

It's a good symbolic gesture. Executives at my business are selling off their big luxury sedans and going for more economical cars too. They can still afford the bigger/nicer cars, but I know the employees appreciate their bosses not flashing their wealth when they are struggling just to make their latest monthly payment on their more modest cars.

That $2 million will hopefully save a few jobs

Hell..... why is the 'commish' have any business making that much money per year.

Good grief....I'll never listen to him again when he complains about salaries in the league and the collective bargaining agreement.

Key word: Symbolic. Just enough, could do more. But better then nothing.

It's easy to say he makes millions and this and that. But frankly, many rich people have bills and debts to pay too. Maybe those bills are on 4 houses or 2 mansions or boats or any other luxury commodities, unlike more modest people simply struggling to pay for the car or house. Doesn't mean he can or should be expected to become a pauper overnight. This might be all he can afford to give up for the time being.

And, let's face it, if he took a cut all the way down to a million, it still wouldn't be enough for many people

Didn't say he had to give up everything and become a pauper at all. He can still live well on 11 mil...or could also live well on one mil too. Not begrudging him what he has, just saying that giving up 2 mil is good public relation's and is not going to hurt him a bit. Some have far more then they need and could give a bit more and still live high on the hog, not just him. You can accumilate tons of stuff and money but in the end you can't take it with you so instead of leaving it for others to do something with after you are gone... I just think I would prefer to give in life so I can see how what I do benefits those I do it for. Just saying some could do more to help those with less. Giving and helping others can be far more rewarding then a bunch of material possession's that no one has enough time for and could possibly need.
