well, Red13 and I spawned an idea...and it might have some merit...depending on popular opinion.

Who here is on facebook?

Anyone object to launching a Melodicrock.com facebook group?

Might be a fun way to connect with everyone here, without always talking about the big bad J word!

Just a thought....

what say you guys?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Our high school class did that and it's kind of cool. There are some here who hate facebook though

You could talk to him about it first, but I don't think he'd have a problem with it unless you used the website's likeness, or logos or anything...I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud. Shoot him a PM!

Done.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Of course not...you can just put your first name in...or put 'Smith' in for your last name...

Frankly, however...if someone in this community abuses the last name factor associated with facebook, and does something in poor taste, I would hope that the rest of the MR.com community would dish out some serious backlash against it.

I think one of the big problems with online forums (and I've been guilty of this very fact in the past) is that you employ a different 'persona' when you can hide behind a 'handle'. My hopes with the facebook aspect of this, is that we can get to know eachother on a more personal basis. I'm putting myself out there as an example. You guys can see me as who I really am, see me on my family vacations, see what makes me tick.

There shouldn't be any reason why we can't act like a bit of an online family and be respectful of anyone onvolved...

sound fair?

In fact, that's one of the very reasons I put my real mug in my avatar....I think people are a little more accountable, when they have to answer as their real selves...and not as 'strangegrey' whatever...

actually, given the backlash, facebook changed their TOS so that they *dont* own forever...

They changed it to that for a few days and people left in droves....so they changed back
