I tried to find out more about the DVD, it didn't even say if it were Sony who dug it up from their vault or not. Maybe they'll release a RoR or a Frontiers DVD next though. :)

Occasionally bootlegs or grey-area releases slip onto 'official' stores. My guess is it's something like that, if it was a Sony release we'd have heard something about it now. (Not to mention if Sony were to release another archival DVD they'd pick something from a different tour to avoid duplicating the Houston release)

This show has one of the cleanest bottlegs available. Someone remastered from the original tape, fixed the color, mixed in Dolby sound and put a very nice menu on the version I downloaded. This disc that is for sale might actually be inferior, if it's just a copy of original mono broadcast.
It might be a legit version though since it has region protection, where most bootlegs are universal. Someone actually went through the hassle of converting the original NTSC recording into PAL on this one.

I have the original master tape of this show direct from Sony on Beta Cam
This is a copy from my tape
If I ever remaster this thing it will be a real master release.

Is this the 7-31-81 show? This bootleg has been copied and circulated among fans for years. Yes, very good picture/sound quality, considering.
