OH, WHAT A LOVELY NIGHT IT WAS. THERE WE WERE, WE MR FOLKS MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME, TALKING, LAUGHING, DRINKING, DANCING, GROPING…DEANO…LAUGHING, DRINKING AND DANCING SOME MORE. OH, WHAT FUN. AND THEN UNBEKNOWNST TO US ALL THE LITTLE GUY I POKE FUN AT ON MY YT VIDEOS, THE MAN I CALL THE ELUSIVE SINGING PEAR TREE, FINALLY SHOWED HIS LITTLE FACE! YESSIR, SURE DID! I WAS LIKE, WHOA, WHERE’D HE COME FROM? THE DIALOGUE THAT FOLLOWS, MOST OF IT GHETTO, SORRY, CAME ABOUT IN MY WARPED LARGE HEAD WHILE I DRANK MY SECOND LEMON DROP.

Perry: Can I join your little fun fest?

THEN PERRY JUMPED INTO THE PICTURE AND THAT WAS THAT. MINUTES LATER, I WAS DRUNK ON THE DANCE FLOOR SCARING THE HELL OUT OF JEFF SOTO ASKING HIM IF HIS BAND WAS COMING TO THE BAY AREA. OF COURSE HE ANSWERED WITH A RESOUNDING, “NO!”

FINALLY PERRY WANDERED ONTO THE DANCE FLOOR WHILE TREV LUKATHER WAS ON STAGE AND DID HIS DANCE, YOU KNOW THE ONE I’M TALKING ABOUT WHERE HE SPINS AROUND IN CIRCLES LIKE A DRUNKEN PUPPY SUMMONING THE RAIN GODS?

CINDY GRABBED PERRY FROM BEHIND AND HELD ON IN A BEAR HUG. COURTNEY FACED PERRY SMILING AND LICKING HER LIPS. MEANWHILE, GUNBOT AND DEANO STOOD AT THE BAR WATCHING IN HORROR HOPING NO ONE WOULD KNOW THEY ACTUALLY LIKED STEVE PERRY WHEN IN FACT THEY SECRETLY WISHED PERRY WOULD SUMMON THEM TO THE FLOOR FOR A DOUBLE SALSA TWO-STEP.

No jealousy here, I've have spoken with Steve Perry more than once so I feel blessed by the winds of time.
I do love that rotating dance & have always wondered what it was & how he learned it.
Gosh darn, if I see him again I hope I remember to ask him
but then again..he's Steve Perry & he has a way of making you breathless...

I can't be jealous over JSS either as he has been very generous with his time & I have a few pics with him....
still I would have loved to be part of the party. It must have been great.
I really enjoyed the MR/JSS experience last June 28th at Paladino's Parking Lot.
Gunbot insisted I try for a photo with Jeff. I wasn't sure if I should approach him as I didn't want to take up his time but I am sure glad that I did get to meet him. JSS has the best sense of humor...he's just a dear man.
I had the best of best times even though the evening had it's pitfalls.
Imagine one petite girl locked outside with a very happy Deano & no place to run...
I don;t know how much he remembers but it was the first time I met him &
he really is a dear man deep inside & we spent alot of time just having fun & singing some songs!

Did you say you danced with Jeff? Lucky MBPL
I wonder how it would be to dance with someone that tall when I'm barely 5 feet tall.
I'd barely come up to his navel...so it might be awkward...then again it could be very interesting...

Oh cool, good for you, my dear! I don't know any of you MR folks personally, although, I am mad about you for liking me, that's for sure! But, I can imagine some of you have met alot of famous folks, why not? But, now wait a minute...you were locked outside with Deano...girl, you allright? Kidding. Deano reminds me of guys I hung with with in school. I used to be a tomboy.

I am 5'5" tall, so to me Jeff was very tall. And, I only stood next to him on the dance floor, we never danced together, but I gravitated toward him because we were near him. I was introduced and spoke to him, well my lemon drop personality spoke to him, but I am sure he could have cared less. I think I told him "I'm sorry I don't know who you are," 'cause I am a dink and remember, I am a fair-weather Journey/Perry fan. But, suffice it to say, you are right, he was a lovely man. Very fan-friendly if I can state that. I mean, he could have easily walked away, but he explained how long he was with Journey and so on. Can't speak for the others, but for this older broad with 2 cats and bus pass he was very pleasant and kind and that is all anyone wants in this world, a little kindness and understanding. I really needed that from him and Trevor and the MR folks that night, really.
