It seems like every other day we hear about a rape/murder of a child or teen like this one:

They say that these sex offenders can never be cured, so what should be done with them?

Here's something that they said about this particular incident:

Sanford was registered as a Level 3 sex offender, the category considered most likely to reoffend, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office. He was listed as homeless on the state sex offender registry, one of 34 transient sex offenders in Clark County. There are eight homeless Level 3 offenders registered in Clark County.

Should they round all these predators up and lock them away for good? When you hear about them migating to a particular community after they are released from prison, you just know they are going to strike again. I cannot imagine how horrifying it would be to have this happen to one of my daughters. It would probably make me snap.

Castration. Draconian? Maybe. But decades worth of experience and psychological evidence suggests there's no other solution other than permanent detainment. I don't even know if castration would necessarily stop all forms of molesting/abuse/sexual sadism... probably not

You're right, probably not. They would still feel the urge to prey on someone, and would probably just act on it in a different way.

We know for a fact that they can't be cured and that they will be repeat offenders if given the chance so I believe they should be put to death.

Besides, there are all kinds of things that fall under the heading of "sex offender". That includes everything from guys dating (having sex with) girls just under the age of consent (which is bad enough) to outright sickos. As stated above, the sickos will find a way to victimize the vulnerable somehow - with or without their sacks in tact.

They should all be shipped to a deserted island to live together as the lepers did on Moliki island. It could be a paradise to them.

No, all sex offenders are not men. Remember all those thirty something yr old female teachers that were doing the dirty with their Junior High male students? They are registered sex offenders. On the other hand some people are wrongly accused and punished like a guy I read about who was 18 and his girlfriend of 2 yrs was three months younger than him and he was charged as a sex offender. What was he supposed to do?...break up with her for 3 months? That's just wrong. Another case, my sister-in-law is a probation officer in St. Louis and she knows of a girl who was in a car next to a policeman and she pulled down her pants and mooned him and he charged her with being a sex offender and now she is a registered sex offender and this stigma for doing something so silly will be with her for the rest of her life.

The sickos that prey on young boys and girls and the ones that rape anyone other than a child should be put to death in my opinion. I think the cases need to each be looked at and evaluated properly first of course.[/quote]

What is weird is that most guys would be okay with this teacher having consensual sex with her male students, whereas most women (and men) don't feel the same way about men teachers having consensual sex with their female students. Why is that?

Our male pomeranian was neutered at birth, but he still tries to hump our other male pomeranian. Maybe cutting his balls off made him gay?

If it's a brutal rape of a kid, the offender should get life, no parole, or fry, preferably, the latter.
Consensual is a different matter to me. It's a bit more hazy.

The world is very overpopulated. Just execute them.

Just be sure before you execute them that it's not someone like the kid that mooned the cop and was labled a sex offender by the jerk cop who forgot what it means to be young. He obviously had no sense of humor or remorse that he ruined that girls life over something as innocent as the mooning. Heck, I've done that before myself when I was young and silly.

My brother was a high school coach and several of his friends were too. They were 26 years old, 27 years old A couple of his fellow teachers slept with 17 year old girls. And my classmate in high school slept with a 26-year-old teacher also. It happens more than you realize. What's interesting is the amount of older female teachers, in their late thirties and forties sleeping with teen boys fourteen and up. It's happened here in Florida quite a few times and across the country just recently. And no matter who gets caught and tried, you see it again and again.

And its not all that out there, either...

The sheriff in Maricopa County ("Sheriff Joe", as he's knows there) in AZ put in place a policy several years back where the inmates all have to wear pink underwear. I always thought it was a strange rule because if they're ALL wearing them, where's the embarrassment factor?

The only time it really would have been "embarrassing"...

Here's an idea... create a special off-shoot within Sheriff Joe's Tent City and send these sex offender there. Let Sheriff Joe handle them all for awhile. That guy is a complete maniac... he'll straighten this situation out.
