Joel Selvin from the SF Chron does the intro and says it was never aired...recorded in one take at the Automatt....fron KSAN Underground Radio...

maybe just aired in SF on KSAN?

Wasn't there a story about when Tower of Powers' main dude was gonna be put away for murder that they heard SP's demo and were going to hire him until they found out he wasn't black?

Loved "Good Times." I played it to death when I still had my Time Cubed set.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

I have this whole thing = it is awesome.

There is even a part where Perry sings behind JLT.

Gawd I love this music.

It's the King Buscuit Flower Hour 1978. I recall the Tower of Power saying in an interview once that they almost hired Steve as their lead singer when they heard him sing. Said that Steve sounded black because his voice had so much soul when he sang.

I think this may have been Steve Smith's first gig as Journey drummer. I believe I read that somewhere.

Yeah, this has been floating around out there for a long time. Perry really does serious justice to Hold On I'm Comin'. When his part comes in, there's no doubt who's singing. Roadrunner is great, too.
