OT - Seal.

I'm in a threadmaking mood, it seems.

I've never been big into Seal (read: I've never heard a single one of his songs). However, a couple of years ago I stumbled onto a video of him singing at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in '93. He sang "Who Wants To Live Forever." Now, I'm no lunatic Queen fanboy; I truly think they've got shit on Journey, but that song is just chilling.

Well, I just watched it again and want to bask in the glory that is Seal. He kicks major ass. Might have to download some of his original stuff.

Start off with his greatest hits. Great stuff! He also just came out with a covers album.

Thanks, man.

What exactly does he sing? Pop? Rock? Gospel? Folk?

Seal is amazing. Love his music. On some thread on here that posed the question what two acts would you love to see you haven't, I picked Seal with Alicia Keys.

I own all of his CDs except one, I think, but it's never going to get any better than his self-titled album Seal from 1994. It's perfection.

It's tough to put his stuff into one category. I'd probably say primarily soul with a little pop mixed in.

There's footage somewhere of Seal doing a Marvin Gaye cover with Annie Lennox. I think it was some awards show. I remember seeing it live. It's pretty darned good.

The covers album is really good. Not sure I would have went with some of the songs and they are actually almost too close to the originals. I was hoping he would bust out a little more. Seal is great.
